Memorial Day weekend watch 2012. No UFOish sightings but I thought I would report on what I did see, since they said even report a nice sunset. The week started out with a solar eclipse, but had I not known about it, it would have been unnoticed. I was at a party where almost noone even knew about it at all. Proving we just do not pay attention to our skys, including not even watching once in a lifetime events like comets passing. Friday we had strong winds and I observed the most unusual cloud formations, nothing like we normally get. During the weekend I was particularly struck by the aircraft traffic, we usually ignore. So many helocopters, and never really paying attention to the big jets on their landing approach to Holywood/Burbank airport. From Vn Nuys airport, I herd, but did not see, the squadron of WW2 fighters flying out to some Memorial Day event or flyover. So we neglect that we see the skys, but also hear the skys. Large firefighting water dropping helocopters are a welcome sight, but also they can be herd, and felt, as they vibrate your house flying past. No I saw nothing of a UFO sighting so far, but the sky is active and alive with activity, we just do not look up and observe.

I was at a house warming party this weekend. It was outdoors and there were dozens of people standing aroudn talking. My wife and I both looked up and saw the moon rising low on the horizon, the mountains making it look much larger that it was. We were all "oohs and awes" and not a single other person acknowledged it. Have you ever seen a dog gaze into a fire with deep contemplation and reflection? It's pretty rare, too...0 points
