At approximately 7:20 pm, I was jogging due east. I rested on top of the tallest incline road in the area, at the edge of my city. The hill overlooks the desert with about a 20 to 30 mile visibility into the distance. As in all of my experiences, As soon as I stopped to take in the view, the lights appeared. Of course they could have been active as I approached the crest, but I'm going with my dumb luck on this one. Several, many, lights - Huge Red then amber flashed on and pulsated slowly, alternating colors. From a close distance to a distance of maybe several hundred feet apart, all in a uniform line of what I think may have been a solid, slightly angled craft. They were not perfectly horizontal, but in line with one another as they danced on and off in random order. The most lit at one time were 4 lights. The event took place for 3 to 5 minutes. The lights stopped and I waited for a while and started walking again. I watched in the East as I finished my route to head North and the lights did not appear again. I jogged home which took me about 35 minutes, heading West. I walked into my driveway, eyes to the sky as I cooled down and spotted a very high altitude strobe (fighter type). I watched as the strobe, barely visible, flashed more intensely and more quickly for about 4 seconds, and then vanish. As if this weren't enough to blow my mind, I walked in and grabbed my binoculars and told my wife I needed to cool down outside. As soon as I sat in my lawn chair and looked up through my binoculars and heard a low and fast flying aircraft and looked out and spotted 3 fighters accompanying one, larger KC series craft. I assume them to be military. And what I can only assume to be a response to the other lights since they were moving quickly to that same location.
