I'm very curious as to what people believe god.. to bee !!
As for myself, with regard to religion & god, I'm one who would sit on the fence.
I CAN SAY I BELIEVE IN A SPIRIT , OR AN ENERGY THAT RESIDES IN US ALL !!.
But.... do i feel there is an entity, a higher being such as god ??
I'm not sure..........
EVOLUTION...... YEAH I CAN RUN WITH THAT CONCEPT FOR SURE . BUT...
???????? BETTER KEEP READING MORE OF YOUR VIEW'S..

My frank opinion....God is the natural end (or top) of the chain of life....the logical conclusion to the progressive complexity of life starting with the simple celled organisms, and ending with a single omnipresent super-conscious being....to me it is only logical that if I exist as an "individual" being trapped in the reality of limited movement in limited (or finite) space/time, that there MUST exist the opposite of that reality, a being who isn't bound by space/time and is "everywhere".
Many worship/believe in multiple gods, and certainly i believe multiple god-like entities exist, however I still believe at the utmost "top" there is but a singular entity who exists in all and through all and is aware of all things. |

What if there is not ?
Does the role of faith and religion , WITH ITS BROAD RANGE OF DIFFERING PERCEPTIONS AND INTERPRITATONS OF GODS MESSAGE RING TRUE !!!
The fact that mankind can fight over this differing belief disturbs me !!!!
Is whats written in the bible fact of fiction ???

Those are pretty basic principles that surpass the need for any flowery and fluffy "religion" and all its dogmatic inventions.
In the end, religion is necessary for some, and unnecessary for others.
It is like the symbol of the crucifix...(or any other religious symbol)....for those who already have their minds fixated on the infinite, then these symbols are rather meaningless and distracting....but for MANY people these things are necessary to focus their concentration...religion itself is like that....some do not "need" religion to understand "God"....some do. I know plenty of folks whose lives were changed dramatically for the better for having embraced religion....but then I also know those whose lives have been virtually destroyed by it as well.
Without faith we would be in a very poor situation...it is good to have a hope for something greater than ones-self. |

I agree with your take on religion , and YOU MAKE A VERY GOOD POINT... at the end of the day, what one person or another needs to live in a harmonious way is that persons choice !! For better or worse, our lives and the direction that they take are based on our day to day choices!! Its our basic right to choose, and we all must respect that !!! Also with regard to hope in more than ones self... I FEEL YOU HAVE TO HAVE HOPE AND FAITH IN YOURSELF AS A PERSON BEFORE YOU CAN HAVE FAITH IN ANYTHING ELSE !! ITS A CONFIDENCE AND SELF WORTH ISSUE ALSO !! TO FEEL THAT YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON IN GENERAL AND THAT YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE OTHERS.FRIENDS... FAMILY... COLLEGES.... TO DO THAT INSPIRES FAITH IN SOMETHING BIGGER!!!  |
