Get your tool belt ready: Registration for the Roswell UFO Festival Light Parade has started.
“After 55 Years - The Mystery Continues...” is the title of this year’s parade and it will run from West 11th Street, south on Main Street and end on West Walnut Street.
Registration for floats runs through July 5. Forms can be picked up at the Crash Down Diner at 106 W. First St. or can be downloaded off the Internet at http://www.uforoswell.com/parade.htm. There is an entry fee of $15.
Cash Prizes and trophies will be awarded in the Best of Parade category with $200 for first place, $150 for second and $100 for third. There is also a Best Alien Unit category, with a trophy for the first-place winner.
Participants from the Electric Christmas Parade that still have their floats together are welcome to enter this parade as well.
The parade is sponsored in part by Plateau Wireless and Crash Down Diner. Photos will be taken of the floats for a festival history book.
