I have a buddy from Metlakatla. My understanding is that Alaska Natives made a very different deal with the government than the Natives of the lower 48. His tribe is apparently the exception.
What exactly are they asking Palin for? I thought the Alaskan Natives already traded in their land for paper money. Whereas those in the lower 48 tried to keep the land too. I could be mistaken. If somebody has more info, please explain it to me. |
