Hey, thanks for posting this. Very Happy

I haven't read it yet. Have you found the "pork barrel" crap yet?

All I can say is that my congresscritter (Dave Reichart) didn't vote for it and my old congresscritter (Jim McDermott) voted yes the first time and no the second time. Very Happy Maybe he really does listen to the people?

One of my bitch senatards did vote for it. Twisted Evil Many years ago when she first campaigned I believed what she was saying. I can't stand that...(I'm not allowed to say that word Embarassed ) (Patty Murray) At least Cantwell voted against it. Maybe she wants to keep her job.

My House Rep. Chris Smith (R) voted no both times, I know the votes were mixed both times for my states other House Reps, Pascrell went from no to yes. My 2 senators, Menendez and Lautenberg, both voted yes.

I haven't really read much of it yet, just the things that really concerned me about the bill, sections 108 and 111, regarding conflicts of interest and executive compensation. And I'm not happy about it. Members of congress accepting money from these corporations, and/or having them work in their campaigns, is not covered as a conflict of interest... That is a major reason why we are where we are today, and it wasn't fixed (even if it was in there, they probably wouldn't enforce it). And apparently, the current executives, the other cause of this fiasco, that section doesn't apply to them apparently, it's meant for future CEO's, so the crooks already there aren't being held accountable.

I won't pretend to be able to understand the whole thing, it's legal mumbo jumbo, but I can figure a few things out... oh well. The majority of this is pork, of the 451 pages, the stuff that was written in regards to all that was going on with the housing market and Wall Street, that ends half way down page 113, so far after that it's a bill for giving tax credits for electric plug in cars, etc. With all the extra crap they added into this, they could have added the expansion of unemployment benefits... That's a little more important than giving Hollywood 400 million and tax breaks to arrow companies, wtf.

Page 301 has a provision on it regarding income from Exxon Valdez litigation!

Not ALL the "Pork" in it is unimportant, but it's just ridiculous that they felt the need ti include it in this bill. There is something about info regarding terrorists... "PERMANENT AUTHORITY FOR DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION RELATING TO TERRORIST ACTIVITIES"? "PERMANENT AUTHORITY FOR UNDERCOVER OPERATIONS." This bill is obviously being used as a vehicle to push other crap through. I see nothing about bailout money for my student loan though.

What does this mean? Where is the definition of this?

I'm really not liking this.

I have also noticed how effective it has been to stabilize the stock market. Rolling Eyes What a bloody crock!!!

Boston tea party anyone? Cool
