|

Several nice tributes including one the Senator Kennedy, may remind us that for most of my life someone with the name of Kennedy, as held offices in our country. That era is nearing an end with his brain tumor. Like him or not, you have to say, we have all grown up with the Kennedy era, full of many tragic stories.
Personally I couldn't watch much of the convention, but the parts intended to be continued damage control for Obamas wife, is enough to make you gag. They are just reaching more and more to try painting a picture of JFK, and they are no place close. The speech at the Berlin wall, and now all this boloney with her speech, the kids, and the promo films about family, is all just a carfeully staged bunch of boloney.
Kids will be kids, but I thought it really backfired on them, and they didn;t come off anything like JFK and Jackey, with little children at all. Worse than going to someones house and they have their 10 year olds preform for you. The biggest backfire is the little one catching ol' Dad in a big blunder about where he was really at. I thought it was strange when he was describing who he was with, but was actually 230 miles away, and the kid caught it. That isn;t a mistake on a Q-card, it was blantant lying, in order to present a facade that was totally false.
Talk about having egg on your face, at the wrong time.
If this is all a lie, what else will be a lie????

Obama gives thumbs-up to wife's speech By DARLENE SUPERVILLE, Associated Press Writer
Tue Aug 26, 12:48 AM ET
DENVER - It was Michelle Obama's speech, but her husband said it highlighted one of his attributes — one he says voters should want in a president.
"Now you know why I asked her out so many times, even though she said no," Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting, told delegates by satellite Monday night after she delivered the first major speech of the Democratic convention.
"You want a persistent president," he said.
In her speech, Michelle Obama told cheering delegates jammed into the Pepsi Center and a nation watching on television that she and the possible future president have shared their hopes and dreams, and their struggles, too.
Afterward, their daughters — Sasha and Malia — joined her on stage and Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" blared from the convention hall. Microphone in hand, the girls began smiling and waving at their father after his familiar face popped up on a large screen erected on stage.
"How about that Michelle Obama?" Barack Obama said. He told her: "You were unbelievable."
"You also look very cute," he said.
Anyone who travels as much as Obama does can get confused about where they are on any given night, and Obama is no exception. He mistakenly said he had watched the speech at the home of a St. Louis family — despite the cue card affixed to the camera as a reminder that he was actually 230 miles away in Kansas City, Mo., where had scheduled a campaign appearance Tuesday.
Sensing the flub, 7-year-old Sasha apparently was prompted to ask: "Daddy, what city are you in?"
"I'm in Kansas City, sweetie."
Obama asked their opinion of their mother's performance and it was unanimous. Both thought she "did good."
After several "I love yous" and Sasha — the hammier sister — blew her dad a kiss, he signed off for the night.
"Listen, I want you guys to look after the girls, look after mommy before I get there and I'll see you guys on Thursday, all right," he said. "Love you guys."
In Kansas City, reporters asked Obama how it felt to watch his wife. During the speech, and a biographical video shown before she spoke, Obama occasionally wiped his eyes.
"You notice my younger daughter is the ham," he said.
"She was unbelievable. But I'm not surprised. When she does something, she does it well," he said of Michelle. "She told her story. It's a story that a lot of families can relate to. Her dad struggled, worked hard. And here, his daughter, is addressing the nation."
Barack Obama closes the convention Thursday night with his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High. |

oh, and there's the one where he's on the wagon...
oh, and the one where he's the decider..

Obama's "lies" are inconsequential. Your effort to affect his likely victory has been called out as I see it.

What's the difference between lying and misspeaking?
If all of our honesty were judged by giving factually accurate straight answers to our 7 year old children 100% of the time, then we'd likely all fail.
Are you telling me that you devote 100% of your focus to an idle conversation with your young child while you are engaged in a monumental task?
Give me a break. It's clear to me that you are much more concerned about painting Obama in a negative light than about real honesty.
We all know that had Bush been in the same scenario, he would have had a backdrop of St. Louis special made (by a crony at our expense) and flown to KC along with an "authentic" family prop. A "real" family from St Louis.
Anyhow, you haven't even lost yet and you sound like a top-notch sore loser.
That's what it's got to do with Obama's "lies." |

Sore loser my ass!
Any idiot can see that the entire performance was carefully orchestrated, and a performance just like the Berlin wall speech. Fact is he lied, to paint some picutre of being someplace in a lovely family setting to watch his wife, and it was a total bullshit story. Obama is very short on experience and actual ackomplishments. He is known as being one of the most liberal sided of all the Sentors. Dukaucas couldn;t think of a single thing to quote when asked "name on thing he has done". They at a total loss on the experience and ackomplishment list. They are totally fabricating an image which is untrue, full of con job lies, and all designed for damage control over his wife. they have nothing to build on for experince, so their only option is a campaign of image and a facade. Playing the JFK card is not going to work.
Thats seeing the reality of Obama, not being a sore loser. Dimpled chads crybabies are what sore losers are.
One thing I have noticed is not many people are really sounding like they have actually watched any of the convention. Kind of suprizing from a group that has bashed Bush for 8 years, that they would not be active watching the TV coverage. Lets face it, if you want Bush out, which you all include McCain as, I would think you would be glued to the DNC, and getting Obama elected. Watching the speeches and making some pro-posts in favor of what has been said, is not being done here. Makes you wonder why not? Maybe becasue the majoriety of you are not from the USA at all, and don;t actually see the TV coverage??? Your comments Hansdew say nothing but flame whoever you comment to, and reflect you're probably one that has not watched, or unable to watch the TV coverage. |

Yes, but it takes a special idiot to consider that remarkable. As if politics is not theater. As if Bush hasn't elevated orchestrated performances to a new height over the past 8 years.

Yawn.
I told my 3 year old daughter that all the cookies were gone when there actually were 2 left.
OMFG!
I am a liar now right?

I bet he can spell accomplishments.
Newsflash: A whole lotta Americans want new blood. We want new experiences. I'm convinced that Obama will not shake things up enough. I'd be happy to elect someone with even less "experience." Experience with our currently broken system is a drawback IMO.

and?

Here's one thing he's done:
He's secured the nomination of the Dem party along with the support of a whole lotta Americans.

His skills overshadow all the accomplishments of most of the crooks in DC.

Well, I disagree. Additionally, I don't see any damage that needs to be controlled. Other than the damage that you are frantically trying to create the perception of.

Convincing others to buy into your skewed perception ain't gonna work either.
Playing the JFK card? According to you.
Those are the only three words needed to be known about your perception:
According to you.

Lighten up greenster! you're not a sore loser....yet. Just sore for now.

I've tuned in for about 10 minutes per evening. It would be a mistake on your part if you assume that dislike of Bush equals satisfaction with something else.

The world I live in is not A or B. Your understanding is overly simplistic. I will vote for Obama. That does not mean that he's all I wish for, or anything near. just means he's not Bush light.

Flame? IMO, the primary reason behind your post was incendiary.
I said you seem to be acting like a sore loser. That is flaming? I suggest you lighten up. |

Are you sore that I've thrown a wrench in your attempt to frame the Obama debate around a trivial "lie?" |

Define trivial lie, when you are trying to fool Americans into electing you as their President? |

1st of all, nice of you to display your bias so clearly. Who's trying to fool whom?
When you're preoccupied with a monumental task such as being the favored candidate to win the presidency of the US, combined with the extreme likelihood that you'll become the first Afr-American to become president AND your 7 year old daughter asks you a question that is irrelevant to your task at hand. Your answer to the 7 year old's question is trivial.
It's a trivial question asked by a child.
The answer is trivial whether it is true or not.
If you are gonna campaign for 100% accurate honesty all the time by politicians, then you're gonna be busy. I'll cheer for you to.
IMO, your bias against Obama leads me to believe that you are primarily concerned with hyping a trivial situation with the intent to make Obama look bad, as compared to a genuine concern for honesty.
Seems to me that you are trying to fool others into believing Obama is a liar based upon a completely irrelevant idle chit-chat conversation he had with his child. |
