PostPosted: Fri Jul 25, 2008 7:15 am    Post subject: McCain: Iraq was the ‘first major conflict since 9/11.’ Reply with quote

Cenk Uygur notes that “the media missed” a false statement from Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) recent CBS interview where he incorrectly claimed the surge “began the Anbar Awakening.” When asked by Kate Couric about whether the money spent on the surge would have been better spent in Afghanistan, McCain claimed Iraq (not Afghanistan) was the “first major conflict since 9/11“:

McCAIN: The fact is we had four years of failed policy. We were losing. We were losing the war in Iraq. The consequences of failure and defeat of the United States of America in the first major conflict since 9/11 would have had devastating impacts throughout the region and the world.

Clearly, Afghanistan was the “first major conflict” that the U.S. fought after 9/11. But in 2003, McCain said the U.S. could just “muddle through in Afghanistan.” As Uygur stated, “They never saw Afghanistan as a priority.”
UpdateRawStory notes that CBS again "scrubbed" this gaffe from its television interview. Watch it:

Hi Aquarian! McCain is a major idiot and puppet! Obama is a major idiot and puppet! The only difference between these two is age. One will have to determine on their own which is the more convincing actor Idea Wink .

The only Acting I;ve seen this week is Obama trying to look like JFK and Ronald Reagan with his Berlin Speech. Taking photo opps with leaders and snubbing meeting the troops and visiting the wounded in Germany.

Um...

The "snubbing of the troops" is a false story, propagated by the talking heads of FAUX News-

The Pentagon said the visit would be inappropriate because it was a campaign stop and not an official Senate visit. As reported by USA TODAY:

Obama had a visit scheduled to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in western Germany, as traveling senators often do, but the Pentagon notified him the day before that the visit would be viewed as a campaign event. He had visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with the congressional delegation, but after those visits his Senate staff returned to the U.S., and in Germany Obama had only his campaign staff with him. When he learned the trip would be viewed as a campaign event, he canceled it. An adviser said, "Senator Obama did not want to have a trip to see our wounded warriors perceived as a campaign event when his visit was to show his appreciation for our troops and decided instead not to go."

Which is why it was all a performance from Afganistan, to Iraq, to Isreal, to the Berlin Wall.

Ahh yes Mainstream [codeword for leftist] Media will always cover for their messiah.

BO "Big Ears" HUSSEIN Obama is noting more than a balde faced liar. The Pentagon informed him CAMERA's were not allowed, THEN because the STOP was a campaign STOP and not a humanitarian stop, BO "Big Ears" HUSSEIN Obama said no thanks and went to the gym and a few other stops, he managed to lengthen his stay by 2hours.

WONDER how much GOOD BO "Big Ears" HUSSEIN Obama could do with all the money$$$ he spends on that chartered plane??? How many mortgages could he pay, how many factories could he buy and make noting, but give people jobs FREE!!!!

Right, USA today.

Like they say in South Park, " There will always be a choice between a Turd and a Douche "

And well I can´t argue with that.
Humans are pathetic by nature and will always be untill they change their whole way of thinking and becomes a new mind...

Some people use the douche in the turd hole to get more turds.

Obama snubbed the troops anyway you look at it. He could have visted the troops without camera and as they discussed on the news, told his campaign advisor to not attend. He was never told he could not visit them at all, they just gave conditions to him, which he refused.

Saturos, do have anything intellegent to add to this post?

You mean, more "intellegent" than this?
