Hello all.
I am at this time announcing a project I have undertaken the COLLOSSAL TASK to choose to do.
In doing my investigation of the FOMB, I decided to do something I always said I wanted to see, an Viking Image Archive that is easily available & easy for the public to see & have access to.
In the past, we have seen a couple that were available through NASA & archive sources. However, the availability & the quality of image data was always a tough task & always not presented that well.
These even has dissapeared pretty much.
This is ad.
However, there are available archives of the Viking orbiter Imagery, but it is filed under thier volumes, as well as in their RAW format. That is nice, but again, that NOT helps the normal Joe Shmoe access these images unless they know what they are looking for, & grab it, & then they must process it.
There are thousands of images in all the volumes that are PUBLICLY Available for anyone to download. But none that show the contents until they are processed.
That fact alone right there, dismays those interested in sifting thrugh whatever they want to, in order to see & study Mars from that most historical Mission to OUR NEIGHBOR PLANET. 
So I have decided a few months back, to download all the publicly available Viking Image Data, & Process them all myself. Image by image, file by file, volume by volume.
I am ON THE HUNT!!! This is part of the investigatory process at the same time. Albeit veryyyyy Timmmmme consummmminnnnggg!
This is no easy task, as IMAGE EXPERTS & people familiar with image data would agree & understand with that statement!
So I decided to do this, until ALL ARE PROCESSED! That then I will be making them all publicly available myself for the public. They are OUR Images after all right?
A web site will be made solely for this VIKING IMAGE ARCHIVE PROJECT, which will have available to 'SEE' the images on the web & one can save as they desire. Or simply view. This is highly an educational Tool NASA should have had set up LONG AGO for the public!!
I will also have available the original RAW format imq files available for anyone to grab if they SEE something they like & want to check out & process themselves.
Hey, can't ask for better than that ay?
However, this is NOT an east task as I said. So far I have processed Viking Image Volumes VO_1001 THROUGH VO_1014.
That may not sound like alot, but there are many files & many images in each file in those volumes.
The best way I figure is the easiest sources I have at my disposal to investigate & check the image archives IN CASE,... IN CASE I find these Faces therein. I am feeling certain they are not.
But the only way to know & be sure, is to go through them One By Painstakingly One!!! So I said why not process them & make them all available since I am going one by one anyway?? makes sense ay?
It is part of the work of what I do!!!
Now I am announcing this before all is done, is simple. I need to design, build, & host this massive Project.
I am in a situation to where I am offering DVD's with the RAW IMQ, & Processed images in PNG format.
This is an effective method for helping me create what should have been done already for us all & the public.
Each DVD contains at least 2 Image Archive Volumes in most cases. These volumes takes up space. 
They are formattted as being DVD Data Discs.
I am setting a price of $20.00 each DVD.
If you purchase 3 DVD's you save $10.00, because it will cost you $50.00!
Instead of $60.00!
So let's say you buy 3 for the $50.00, :hi: Then if you want more in the same order, you pay $10.00 for each additional DVD!!
Those interested in having these Historical Viking Orbiter Images, at their conveniance & at their demand, is a MUST for Mars enthusiasts, Image specialists, Educational venues, as well as for your own personal Archive to keep & share & enjoy for your lifetime & that of your family & friends!
The funds acquired from sales of these DVD Data Volumes, will go to the help needed for me to create & maintain this massive Project that is & will be an essential Tool for online availability & easy access.
Plus it will help a little in my circumstances, so I can take care of things & family.
I certainly do not expect or think to strike it rich doing this, nor is this my purpose! Lest anyone LIP at my efforts.
I am the one doing all the work, & if you think it is easy, please do, go ahead & do what I am doing. It is a process & a half to process them & make them ready for easy viewing.
So in time this will start taking shape. But I cannot do it without your help! This is NOT a con or a sham! This is what is needed, & Important for everyone, since this is where it all started of which why we are now here & being who we are in what we do. Mars captivates our curiosity as well as passion.
This is a good deal, & a righteous effort to help support & help to create!
Even if no sales, I will try to find a way to get this project up & out to be what I envision it to be.
It will help many people young & old. Peoples of Today & Tomorrow!

| no offense but I am fairly certain it is not legal for you to sell dvd/cd compilations of those pictures even if they were taken from a publicly available website... |

No offence taken. However that being said, you are wrong!
These are the PEOPLES IMAGES. These also are my processing of the public Images, that makes it easy for YOU... & all else be able to see these images without having to download all the raw files & processing them all one by one yourselves.
Also they will be free once they are on the net, on the site I am planning to make for it. But still, people will still want to have DVD's with them ALL processed already, & even have the raw files as well. So that way I will be able to maintain the site that will have them accessible to you all. It will pay for itself.
I must use DVD's I must get, & My work & time is put into them to process them & make it all available for all to have access to on the net.
NASA must be strapped,that it cannot do so or not wants to do so.
So I do so! That simple. ANYONE CAN DO IT!
NASA should consider this a Favor for them in fact.
It benefits everyone!!
Especially....AMERICANS!!! |

| I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell those public domain images as well, since NASA still holds the rights to them. However, if you would like some help processing them for a free gallery on the web, I'd be glad to help you out. |

willo. Hi.
It aint illegal. Those are THE PUBLICS IMAGES!!!
When is all going to understand that.
However, I am processing them all one by one, file by file of what is publicly given & available.
These images as well as the raw imq files will be made avaikable to the net, in a site I am going to need to make. A custom site I want it to be. That is easy navigable & unique. That I will surely need help on, to bring out what I wanna see it as being.
Either way, this takes time, & money to accomplish.
I porocessed these PUBLIC Images. & am still doing so. These will be sold to interested parties. This will help the effort. There will be plenty of people who would want conveniance.
Thanks for the input & offer to help. But as far as processing them goes, I am handling that part for my own reasons of investigation I am under way with now, for OTHER reasons & Things.
When the time comes, I will see if you can help, or have ideas or point me in right rirections to achieve this for the web & all the peoples who access it!

| I'm with Rythm and Willo, I'm pretty sure it is illegal also. They might be public images, but I think using them for profit breaks some kind of law. It would be different if you were handing them out for free. |
