John McCainMcCain asks crowd to be 'respectful' of Obama
Working to dampen the angry crowd meme, McCain tells his Minnesota rally to take it easy, Amie Parnes reports:
At a town hall in Minnesota, McCain tried to tone down a week of raucus, angry crowds after one man stood up and said: "We want you to fight."
"The people here in Minnesota want to see a real fight. We want a strong president to lead us through the next four years."
"I think I got my marching orders," McCain said. But then he shifted tones.
"I am enthusiastic and encouraged by the enthusiasm and I think it's really good," McCain said. "We have to fight and i will fight but we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments and I want to be respectful.
"I dont mean that you have to lose your ferocity. I just mean you have to be respectful."
A moment later, another woman stood up and urged McCain to speak up so voters "really have an understanding of who the candidates are."
"There's a difference between rhetoric and record," McCain said, adding that Obama voted to raise taxes 94 times. "He has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate, even more liberal than Bernie Sanders."
Once again, McCain repeated, "I want all of you to tell your neighbors about the difference between rhetoric and record, but let's do it respectfully."
Later in the event, man in the audience stood up and told McCain he's "scared" of an Obama presidency and who he'd select for the Supreme Court.
"I have to tell you. Sen. Obama is a decent person and a person you don't have to be scared of as president of the United States," McCain said as the crowd booed and shouted "Come on, John!"
"If I didn't think I'd be a heck of a lot better, I wouldn't be running for President of the United States."
If it's not the Times editorial board jeering him, it's his own crowd. |
Sure. |

Has McCain gone Ike Turner on us, or is this some North Vietnamese spirit-breaking mindgame tactic ? Abusive scorn and torture one day, remorse and kindness the next then repeat the process.
Perhaps the old boy was visited by the Ghost of Presidents Past. |

McCain can't win, if he acts respectful twards him he is weak, it he takes off the gloves he is running a dirty campaign. Problem is Obama has a few questions to answer and the liberial media is biased and anti-bush at all costs.
Todays news was a speech made by Louis Farracan talking about Obama and what is to come for them, as if they have a united cause or mission. 20 years with Reverand Wright may have some real skeletons and an anti-american adgenda. |

McCain is screwed on so many fronts...
He can't really attack Obama's connections to Fannie and Freddie, because he has a bunch of their lobbyists working for him.
He can't really attack Obama for ACORN, because the Diebold machines are still is a problem, and Republican's benefit from that.
He can't really attack Obama for his connections to radicals and racists, because that is now deemed racist itself.
And on top of all that, McCain is fighting a supposed anger management problem, so he can't go after Obama with the anger his supporters want him to display.
I saw the Nation of Islam video, and it is frightening... Louis Farrakhan actually insinuated Obama is the Messiah.

I put that togather as on piece of the puzzle, with Rev Wright, 20 years of worshipping with him, Michelle's Obama's statements, and the ties to Ayers a 60's leftover. It all paints a big picutre of an unthinkable idea, the connection the Louis Farrican is much closer than we think.
Thats why they are working so hard on discrediting Sarah Palin and her Alaskian inexperience as well as any dirt they can kick up. |
