The Mayans? Dead? OMG!
Uncle Sam's just trying to get the industries to settle on one standard, it's not the first time they've had to intervene and might spare us from suffering BetaVision. 
The part I'm not getting is the correlation between the hackers and the asteroid. Maybe that particular leap requires 'chemical enhancement.' |

If by "BetaVision" you mean Betamax... Betamax was superior to VHS. The only reason VHS was chosen was because the government was coerced by the film industry. They did not want video tapes to compete with movie theaters.
Yet more government corruption. |

I'm talking about standards chosen thru corruption of the bureaucracy instead of by consumer demand. What are you talking about? What is BetaVision? |

More on the gov forcing digital TV. Feb 18th is the date you have to be ready or risk missing your favorite show.

Looks like some folks don't like it. Yeah, poor people can't afford to go out and get new TVs and converters. People in Wilmington N.C. clinging to their guns and religion can't tune in Oprah. I gave up network TV almost 10 years ago, don't miss it. Just recently gave up satellite TV, don't miss it. Nothing on TV these days anyway.
When the GOV says you are not allowed to turn off your TV is when you should get really scared. Is it coming? |
