Great interview, I look forward to reading her book. Alas its the same old song, great story, no proof. The truth is that until someone steps forward with some genuine evidence the ufo field will continue to lurk in the shadows as it has done for the last 60 years.  |

That interview scared the crap out of me. I've read the story before but to actually hear a blood relative speak about it gave me the creeps! The fact that the family hasn't made a cent off of this case in the last few decades is all the credibility I need.  |

| I actually have looked into this and it is something intriging...Like Astralia said...Hearing frm the daughter makes it moreinteresting...and the fact that 11 family members where there at the time... |

| This episode occured while my family was in Florida on vacation and so if it was published locally in Kentucky I missed it. Months later I found it mentioned in a magazine or book. I was intrigued because the article related that a Kentucky State Trooper on his way to investigate all the shooting had supposedly seen a silvery object fly away from the farm. Years later (2002 perhaps) while at the National Archives II I discovered some UFO material had been released for inspection. I attempted to locate their file on this occurance and wasn't having any luck. I discussed the problem with one of the staff and believe he related everything was filed by the date it happened. Although pressed for time I eventually found it almost by accident. Initially no report had been submitted but the Air Force had received so many inquiries an investigation was started over a year later and this accounted for the incident not being indexed properly in their system. I copied much of what was in the file. It would be interesting to compare the belated interviews and report with Geraldine Stith's book. I do remember the Trooper had been dispatched because alarmed neighbors close enough to hear all the shooting felt this was out of character for the family and had called it in. The family under attack did not have a phone and this prompted them to eventually go into Hopkinsville. |
