And speaking of UFOs and aliens, the new issue of WNJ features an interview with one of the nation's most famous (and outspoken) abductees in history. Here's an excerpt from that interview:

Riley Martin, NJ's Intergalactic Ambassador
UFO enthusiasts have known of Riley Martin for years. And even nonbelievers may know him from his many appearances on the Howard Stern radio show, as well as his own radio programs on the Artist First World Radio and Sirius Satellite Network.

Martin has achieved this level of exposure due to his detailed accounts of being abducted by alien beings every eleven years since his childhood. His dealings with seven different alien races are the basis of his fame, as well as his book, The Coming of Tan, co-authored with an actual alien being.

In Riley's many television and radio appearances, he has been presented as someone on the fringe, someone with outlandish, strange views. He has also sadly been held up to ridicule as often as he has been given a platform to recount his tales.

We recently visited Martin at his home in Washington, NJ. What we found was a man who certainly had some incredulous tales to tell, but who was not without an equally incredible amount of charisma. The following is and excerpt of our interview with him. We're not here to say his words are true, nor are we here to present him for any sort of mockery - instead, we present to you Riley Martin, in his own words.

WNJ: I think our readers will be really interested in this, because they've always loved stories of encounters with otherworldly beings. Maybe you could give us a brief history of how your encounters began - when you first realized this was happening and what it was.

RM: I was born in the state of Mississippi in 1946, month of May. My family moved across the river, into northeastern Arkansas, that year. It was there, near the banks of the St. Francis River, in 1953, that I saw lights above the river three nights in a row, in the wee hours of the morning. I would wake up and observe the lights. Aerobatics in the sky. And the greater light would come down towards the river. On the third night, it was illuminating my room. Each night I tried to wake up two of my brothers, who slept in this big room with me. I was never able to awaken them. Which is totally unusual. Any other time, they would have awakened, and cuffed my ears or something - you know what I mean? On the third night I heard something distinctly asking me, saying "Friend Martin, come out. We have need to speak with you." So I got dressed and said OK. I went out and got my dog Brown Boy. And we went down to the river to investigate these lights. As we came through a cane break, I could feel static electricity in my hair, the leaves were shaking, the dog's hair was standing up. And as I stepped into a clearing near the river, I saw the ship. It was standing about three to four meters above the ground. And it was moored by three flexible legs, not standing gear. And it danced kind of like a cork on water. It was silver in color, and it had two rows of light, one on the outer edge, one on the inner edge. And they seemed to revolve against each other. And then, it reminded me of an old bible story, of Ezekial, when he said "Wheel in the middle of a wheel." You know what I mean? As this fire chariot came down, what have you. Presently, the dome, though it was metal, it cleared up, just like glass. And I saw two beings standing there looking down at me. I decided to run for it. But the moment I had the thought, bam, I was hit with a blue white light. I could not move. My dog Brown Boy, a very noble dog, would fight anything, but he didn't want nothing to do with that. He cut out and left me, the bastard! You know what I mean! I looked back, I saw his ears flapping as he went to get some help. You know. Anyway, there was a bright light at the bottom of the ship, and I saw two beings walk out of that light - one of them a little taller than the other. The taller one was wearing a green seamless jumpsuit and a bubble head helmet. The shorter one was wearing a sky blue jumpsuit, bubble helmet, covered all over, gloves. On his left breast was a seven pointed star, in the middle of which was kind of like a fat H. On her left breast was the sign of the fish. You know the sign of the fish?

Inside the fish was a little small H. This was the female, a few inches shorter than he. They held me by each arm, and said "Friend Martin, come and go with us." I said, "Well you'll have to ask my mom," you know, because she'll be worried about me. He said, "Don't worry, we'll soon bring you home again," and he said "Don't you remember us?" I said "No, who are you? What are you?" They said, "Don't you remember us? From there - near the Tigris and Euphrates and the Nile River Valley, when your ancestors did build it to Pyram and Giza. Don't you remember us?" I said "It's coming back to me." You know! Apparently, they were projecting the thoughts. They took me out to the great mothership. It is located between Saturn and one of its great moons. This book was written 17 years ago. 2004, the Cosini Nasa rockets started taking photographs of some great luminous object that obviously is not a star or a meteorite, exactly where I said it would be. These same extraterrestrials visited me roughly every eleven years and took me up. I have spent time ranging from three to nine days on that great Mothership, at which time they acquainted me with not only the geological and sociological history of this planet, but of their home planet and others, and gave me more or less inroads, I'm not a physicist, but they gave me inroads into their technologies, their food, their robotics, their thought processes. Their sociology, their reproduction manners, their physiology, and all of these things. And I was learning these things at a rapid pace because they are able to teach you even as you sleep, and sometimes with a low frequency beta digital thing that they do in your pillow and all of this. So as the years went by, every time I would return, there were military vehicles all over the area. Men in beekeeper suits, all of this. Strangely, my mother and father never told them that I had been missing. You understand.

They instinctively knew not to do this. Now, why they hadn't had the whole country up in arms looking for me is another phenomena. If they had done it, I would probably be in a petrie dish in the Pentagon by now. But I had no memory of the experience. On December 28, 1987, in the Ozark Mountains, was my last visit. This was the time they told me, "Friend Martin, it is now time for you to remember all of the information that we have given you all of these years. You have two choices - the Earth is in a lot of trouble. Now, you may go back and tell this information to humanity, and warn them of impending cataclysms, which will no doubt the transitions will begin to come about in late 2012. Now you have two choices, you may go back and do this, or you can come with us." Ezekial decided to go with them - you understand. And so have others now through history, from time to time. I tried to beg off. I said, "Look, I got no education, I'm a minority, I haven't always stayed within the law, as they have accused me facetiously of growing herbal essence on my land. And heavens forbid, making corn whiskey. You understand. I don't know who planted that stuff on my property! But all I'm saying is that, I have neither the social reputation, nor the pious attitude, nor the position, nor the family history of some great political endeavor or anything of that nature to be able to tell the world this. They're not going to listen to me!"

He said, "Friend Martin, the truth must be felt, as well as heard. Those who have hearts will feel. Those who have minds, will reason. Those who know logic will decipher." I said, "Ok, great pumpkinhead! If that's the way it's going to be, **ck it, let's try." All the symbols and whatever, you see no crumpled of sheets of paper in my trash can. If I've imbibed a few brewskies, or whatever, I still don't make mistakes on the symbols! [The "symbols" that Riley refers to here are marker drawing of his own design that he creates and sells. The purpose of the symbols is something like currency - they are supposed to grant the bearer access to alien escape ships when they arrive here just prior to the earth's destruction.] Of course, I make mistakes in life, but on the symbols I do not. With the reason, that I'm drawing configurations that the ships take knowledge of, the different species, robotics and all of this, I don't make mistakes. And I draw in ink – no erasures, you see. As you can see. Now, this in itself is a phenomenon. I have done tens of thousands of symbols, young one. No two are the same. I didn't make a prototype and print it off. You understand.

WNJ: How did you end up in New Jersey?

RM: At the time, I was living in Oklahoma. I sent my manuscript to a NASA scientist. And the Japanese were out there, locating me riding fence on the ranch. I don't know how they did it, but they did it. Sixty miles from anywhere, you know. Anyway, later I started to do - I did Coast to Coast, some radio shows, and one morning, early, somebody called me and said "Hey, this is Howard." I said, "Howard who?" "Howard Stern." I said, "Hey man, you know what time it is?" He said, "Yeah, I heard about your case, man," and so the gist of it is he said, "Can you come to New York?"

WNJ: How many years ago was this?

RM: Back in, oh, 94, 95. I hooked up with Howard I think, it was in 95. They flew me in, and my publisher at the time was from New Jersey. And my traipsing back and forward, coming to the East Coast, not only that, but lectures in Philly, the Bronx in New York, and what have you, I eventually decided that most of my media coverage and ability to interview, or even to do shows and what have you, was going to be on the East Coast. Simultaneously, I had the good fortune of meeting my lovely wife. And she's from Jersey. So, ultimately, I simply moved to Jersey just to be in the mix.

WNJ: Now you moving to New Jersey, did that affect your contact with extraterrestrials?

RM: Of course not. Each human has, I call it an etheric vibration. They run on a certain frequency. Once that frequency is encoded into the neurotonic computers, they can locate you anywhere. They don't have to implant you. Other aliens of lesser technology might use implants, things like this.

WNJ: Just because our interest is geared so much towards New Jersey, a lot of times when I talk to people about what we do, they say "Why is there so much strange stuff in New Jersey?" And we often say, you know, "There's no real answer to that." But I was wondering if you might have any perspective, being a New Jersey resident, and having known probably better than anyone the interests and mentality of visitors from beyond. I wonder if you have any insight into what about a place like this might be so appealing that so many aliens have visited New Jersey over the years.

RM: I can make a guess. I have no ironclad answer. The topography, that is the lay of the land, in New Jersey, encompasses a variety of scenarios. That is, in beauty, content, aerability of the soil, things of this nature. Yet, it also holds within it some of the greatest destructive elements of the world. You understand. Such as atmospheric poisons, waste, and things of this nature. It's unique in the study of human psychology, meaning that the state has always, to some extent, always leaned towards, the elementals of the dealmaker and the corrupt politician if you wish to say that, as well as powerful financiers, vice, also creativity and what have you. Secondly, it is probably one of the places that is located near what is called a quantum window or a vortex that floats around over Jersey, enabling ships to enter and exit easily, and things like this. So New Jersey has a lot going for it.

WNJ: It's interesting that you mention a vortex, because we've had reports of one in Wanaque, which is also the town that is most famous for UFOs

RM: Well I would not know about that, but I am telling you what I have gathered. You know, from the state. Now you can look over my house. You won't see any history books, science books, science fiction books, and all that bullshit. What I have is located in my neurofactors. And it's there! I stand to be queried by anybody. I invite any comers to my show.

WNJ: You mention your show. You've become something of a celebrity fairly recently with Sirius Satellite, and your show, and you do invite people to ask you anything and to share their experiences.

RM: Of course! I do two shows. I do Sirius Satellite on Howard 101. It is now done Sunday nights, 7 PM. And of course they do the replays each week. I also do a computer access show with ArtistFirst.com. If you go to RileyMartin.org you can access the archives about ten shows and listen to them at any given time. Or you can hear me in real time on Tuesday nights from nine to ten, pretty soon from nine to eleven.
