| Why do we watch Television programs ? What is a program ? Isn't it just a form of hypnotism ? Programming is what we are told cults do. Hence de -programming. Yet T.V. is programming billions on how to think, what to like or dislike what to be afraid of& what to buy. Surely T . V. is evil , brainwashing in a box. Mind manipulation transmitted directly in to almost every home. Cable T.V. & Satellite T.V, is supposed to give people a free choice in what they want to watch. However what is the point of 700 TV channels. It is designed to distract people from reality & waste their time by encouraging obsessive compulsive habits. For example many people watch the shopping channels or porn or sports everyday. This is to dumb down the population. |

No, TV may dumb people, but that's only the stupid people that can't control how much attention they spend on it in the first place, not a huge loss IMO. The internet isn't the same thing, the internet can be used to do the same things (And in most ways better*) but that shouldn't be confused with being the same.
* Better in this context means, more efficient, with fewer down points etc, not personal preference. |

| I think it depends on a person's personality. If you're a "follower" type, you're more susceptible to television's "influences". I do think they're energy-hogs though (the ones without the Energy Star, of course). |
