Nothing need be added to that. Thanks for sharing.
Of course, it's no different than someone saying "Screw Iran, they can go to hell," which you would vehemently condemn, citing the countless innocent people in the country who did no one any harm.
You're a hypocrite of the largest order. |
Just to recap.
Isn't it interesting how Tom said:

Interesting, Tom. Let's say that I said, "Screw Israel" too...
Would you take that to imply hatred? Hatred for whom, specifically? |
Gee, you accidentally left out the key phrase... the very words I've been arguing against directly! The "they can go to hell" part.
If you said "screw them... they can go to hell" and convinced me you were serious (and not just making some point as if there is one), yes I would definitely define it as hate. And isn't that obvious since I just did the very same thing? I wouldn't spare you the soapbox condemnation... it's not personal against Nesaie. Though I will admit, she does get special points because of her stance against non-Israeli anti-Semitism. |
Yet he himself did the same with my post:

Good for you, Tom.
I personally see no Christian leadership, if by "christian", one means following the example set by Christ. |
You like to argue semantics don't you. The reference to the vast majority of our leadership being Christian pertains solely to their belief in the bible and its prophecies. I never suggested that anyone in our leadership is a genuine, righteous, true follower of Christ. I could never assume anyone is that way without watching them closely for an extended period. |

I also have serious doubts as to there being any benefit to America in that "alliance", if by "america", one does not mean corrupt leadership. |

But maybe I'm just arguing semantics here. |

They don't make sheets big enough for that.
Thomas, Tom, Enki, buddy O pal... I have to ask you, as a Christian, do realize that over 80% of the entire Christian population in Israel lives in squalor in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and are treated like 2nd class citizens by the Israeli government and the Israeli people, because they are Palestinian (and live openly among the Muslims without problems), and have no representation in the Israeli government, while in Lebanon, a mostly Muslim country, Christian's are treated equally, and that the president is mandated to be a Christian in order to insure equal representation in the government?
If you wanna allude to biblical writing regarding Israel, you just might wanna look at the fact that the scripture also states rather specifically how Israel is supposed to come to be... And the last I checked the UN was not the Messiah... That would be why there are entire Jewish communities in the U.S. that don't support Israel. |

Hey Rob.
How the Israeli government treats Christians that live within their borders has no effect on my feelings toward the entire Israeli populace. And even the Israeli government itself or any other party responsible for the harsh treatment of Christians, should be loved nonetheless by all Christians. Not hated, not condemned to hell, none of that. But all that aside, any decent human being wouldn't hold the entire country of Israel in contempt. If people are going to be judged, as Nesaie certainly did, then they should be judged as individuals.
'Screw Israel they can go to hell' is hateful and that's all my point ever really was... other than to say I personally believe that our government gives Israel a free pass because (a) they value our alliance/presence in the region too much, and (b) the majority of them believe bible prophecy which says all enemies of Israel will be destroyed while Israel on the other hand will never be defeated... though they will be surrounded by enemies who will attack them.
Whether or not they are correct in believing the 'Israel' spoken about in prophecy is the established country of Israel, isn't really all that relevant. |

Or the books that he wrote while claiming to be other people.
So, because I'm against terrorism, racism, theft, etc. I'm a bad mod in Tom's opinion.
Eh...go figure. |
Well, yes you are a bad mod in my personal opinion because you openly discriminate against others. I sound like a broken record because, similarly, you sound like a broken record with your condemnations against Jews and Christians.
What you do here, on a much smaller scale, is like a US Supreme Court judge announcing he despises--even hates--everyone that lives in Washington state. He would lose his job instantly after making such an announcement.
I know differently but new people (who show up all the time) may have no idea that your hate for Jews and Christians isn't indicative of the BV site itself; afterall, you are somewhat a representative of the BV, right? |

What does it matter to you who condemns or hates who, Tom? I thought you believe that your God has predetermined His companions in eternity...the rest are of no concern.
It's simple logic. You have absolutely no reason to show any compassion or concern for others whatsoever, if what you've said you believe is true.
The Chosen are saved and the Unchosen are of no consequence.
Yes? |

* Discriminating is commonsense and natural.

* Well not really. The problem with you is that though you are equipped with a few neurons, 'debating' with you is akin to arguing with someone with Down's syndrome.

* What's that got to do with the price of uranium in Somalia? N didn't say she hated all Israelis. That you choose to believe she did despite it being obvious she didn't is your own personal comprehension problem. - Though of course it is clear you are only doing this as you assume it is your duty to your to attempt to curtail legitimate debate on the matter on behalf of your perceived masters amen/shalom. However you are not very good at it.

Did I say I don't like you personally? No. I would have said the same thing to anyone, especially a mod. It has nothing to do with whether or not you're Christian and in fact I have many, many friends here on the BV and elsewhere who are not Christian.
And as far as Deism goes. It's a religion that was basically made up out of necessity during the so-called Enlightenment period... just for the sake of getting rid of the bible and all the controversey and disputes that surrounded it. As an established religion it lived a very, very short life. I can't help but think that today, most folks who embrace its strange concepts do it just to be hip or trendy.
Is 'Jefferson's Bible' the Deist manifesto, I wonder? |

If Tom has a personal problem with Nes, that's his problem.... I just don't understand his reasoning. After all, a person who has said they believe in a cold, calculating God who foreordained souls to be destroyed with no chance of salvation really has no business judging anyone.
My own personal opinion is that Nes is a good mod. |

I think she's got the hots for you Tom. She'd love you to discipline her with your rod of truth. She's just playing hard-to-get. |

I expressed an opinion and made an observation based on a direct quote. Isn't it convenient that any time a Christian does anything but blow sunshine at you, it's categorized as judging someone?
Nesaie was challenged on her words. Conversely, Nesaie didn't challenge the Iraeli citizens using on their direct words. Instead Nesaie condemned an entire country based on her anger at where some of her money is going.
It's not that you can't see the difference, PNG. It's that you don't want to see the difference. There, you can call that judgmental if you want. |

Quit while you're behind, Tom. I bear you no ill will, really I don't.
If you wanted to be the bigger man, you could apologize to her.
The very least you can do is shut up, for your own sake. |

Hum...OK. Because I support Israeli pacifists, I hate Jews. Because I don't believe that Jesus died for my sins I hate Christians. Because I don't like the Likud party, which was formed by the terrorists Irgun, I hate Jews. So, do I hate Catholics because I don't support FARC? Am I a "self hating American" because I don't support the terrorist of the US called the CIA?
How 'bout this, I am intolerant of hypocrites. Hypocrisy comes in many forms, religion is only one.
Wonder why I get along with those who actually follow their beliefs?
But, most modern Christians don't actually follow Jesus, they follow Paul. You knew that though.
Now, lets get onto what I actually mod. I try to mod swearing in the religious forum. If I get a PM from someone about a thread, I do something about it. What exactly do you expect from a mod in the religious forum? Do you support freedom of religion so long as its Christian? Should religious mods only be Christian? That way they can keep those soulless Atheists out of the religion area? For the most part, the moderators around here are pretty hands off.
Again, if you have a specific problem with what I've moderated in the religious forum, you are more than welcome to alert John. If your beef with me is merely because we disagree on political and religious issues, then thats going to be a hard sell. I also invite you to volunteer to be a mod. You could also volunteer for the religious section and take care of any bias I show. We could be co-mods, wouldn't that be fun? |
