Yes, in the settings window, you choose the directory where you want the videos to store. I would double check to ensure you are placing there there... and also maybe a quick search on the newest files would help you find them.

When you double click on them on the left side of the screen - do they play?

Sincerely,

The vids will not play. I've loaded in VLC as a suggestion from Project CE and made it the default player. When I load in the video VLC is telling me that the .avi file is broken. I hit "play as is" and It runs for a second and freezes. It doesn't appear as I would have a chance to upload things in this current predicament. At least I'm now seeing that the captures are being saved so I'm making progress. I've also seen a .dll extension and know that VLC should be able to accept it as well according it's the default settings but I don't think .dll is anything I should be concerned with.

I uninstalled and reinstalled all pertinent programs in proper order and made sure the video and image paths were correct. I do appear to now be saving the data but the images are sooo tiny and the vids won't play without overriding what should be a natural course of things. I of course am not panicked or upset about any of this as I know that with a tweak or two of what I need is all it would probably take. However I have been dealing with this for several days now and have hit the wall with whatever techy stuff I know. Nothing I do seems to get the vids to play.

I see the video examples and don't understand why I'm having an issue simply because I want to download and view videos from programs that are supposed to easily talk to each other. It should be seamless even if not intuitive. I mean it has to be simpler than this. I'm going to stop trying to make things work for now to see if you might have some insights as to a direction I go. Like I said, This isn't at all upsetting but it is a bit of a quandary. Look forward to whatever you might have in mind as a way through this :) Just don't tell me I'm the only one even if you have to lie to me LOL.

Sorry if I repeat any questions you guys had on the side, but it really sounds like a codec issue.

Just to make sure, in addition to installing the UFO Detector software, you did also go to the codec page and run this file: http://lags.leetcode.net/Lagar.....p_1327.exe

Can you use the free service http://www.wetransfer.com and send a recording that you got to contact@theblackvault.com? That way, I can see if the video is recording properly, and we can round this down to it being a codec issue, which is usually described by crashing, choppy play, etc. exactly what you are experiencing.

Look forward to getting it!

Sincerely,

John Greenewald, Jr.

Hello John,

I've done all and everything. Even downloaded VLC, MCH-HC, and software galore that's supposed to fix broken or missing .avi indexes all to no avail. Then today I ran across this little gem:

http://forum.videohelp.com/thr.....e-indexing

I followed what was instructed in post #2 to the letter for the VLC software and the problem went away. Had I not found that post I more than likely would have never succeeded. Just to double check I uninstalled all other related software downloads and the videos are running fine.

BTW, VLC was the closest thing to running the videos out of all other players so I knew I was close. Alas though, I've nothing to report..........YET! ;)

Hello All,

I now have images of the my first anomalous event. It occurred last night 4/1 at 9:09pm. The strange thing is the direction the target takes. Also it was extremely quick, it appeared suddenly in the lower right corner of the video and angled UP from left to right and out of the field of view less than a second, Also the color, shape, and speed of the image(s) isn't what I would expect from a plane. I also think it safe to say that the angle of travel probably rules out a meteor. I also took two snapshot frames in the correct order. Below is a close up of the first frame. The second frame shows only half of the same object.

I would like to congratulate Project CE on the speed of the UFO Detector's software!

I would like to put up a camera and try this. My first location would be under the eave of the roof outside looking South. Would bright sun ruin the camera? Alternately would be a North view but I would have a long run of wire. Can someone recommend a camera type?

Generally, I would not point the camera directly into the sun for multiple reasons. First, I can't speak to the exact damage that would happen, however, you open up the fact that the sun will over saturate the camera with light, and you would not get a good video.

However, if you're looking south, it sounds like you can position the camera out of the path of the sun.

Sincerely,
