Thats great to here. ProjectCE has done an AMAZING job with this, and I am PROUD to be involved with the project. I agree with you, it should be plastered EVERYWHERE.

I know I speak for projectce as well, we are very excited to have you aboard, and look forward to your submissions!

Sincerely,

Hi John,

So is it OK then to link ProjectCE onto other sites? I would be sure to post the necessary additional links to the other software needed so folks could get things up and running for themselves.

And you're 110% correct, the programmers did an outstanding job. Few know the amount of time, work, and critical knowledge it takes to generate such a program. And then on top of all that to put it up for FREE? It vastly unbelievable when one really thinks about it. Personally I can't thank these people enough for what they've given, and given up, to make it happen.

Hello John,

I know at this early stage things are getting worked out on the software side of things but a friend of mine asked a question about cameras. Not so much brand as usage. He doesn't have a weather resistant camera nor a good window in which to position it. He was wondering if a wireless camera could be used as a substitute.

For myself, I sent off an email to ProjectCE regarding the use of an infra-red camera and am waiting to hear back. I was more curious about it than actually using one but one never knows, eh?

I was also thinking about adding a polarizing filter in the daytime to darken the blue sky some for easier viewing of any objects like the white lights in the vids already posted on the site.

In short, I believe yes, as long as the webcamera is connected to the computer, the software should see it, use it, and it should work fine.

In regards to the link, yes, feel free to offer links. ProjectCE is located at: http://www.projectce.org

The Black Vault's page for it is located at: http://www.theblackvault.com/c.....-detector/

The captures archived thus far are located at: http://www.theblackvault.com/c.....etector/

Enjoy :)

Hi John,

Thought I'd let you know that I'm up and running here in Maine thanks to ProjectCE and you. We'll see what the night brings. Meteors? planes? Something......else?

Hello,

So, question. Now that I have some things to look at how do I look at them? Is uploading the only way as I'm having trouble viewing the vids. I think I have them as I can see them on the left side of the detector programs frame. But they won't play.

Oh, one more. Is there a full screen setting?

Hello hiflier,

To make sure, did you install the codec as instructed by the Readme file? That is important for the videos to record and play properly.

Sincerely,

In looking into things I saw that I had the program twice and it's in two locations on the computer each with a different folder name. One program won't let the other one function well and I'm in the process of trying to uninstall and start fresh. One won't delete because the computer is saying to close the program in the other location and so on back and forth so I'm kind of stuck. But help is on the way and if I can uninstall one or both copies then all should be well. The Codec installed fine BTW. I know because I'm getting image thumbnails of the videos- I'm just having trouble because they won't save to the Videos path. Been in touch with Project CE about but all of us know it pilot error on my part- the program itself is fine.

Thanks for getting back to me; I'll get it squared away this evening :-)

Ok no problem. Let me know if you need anything else.

I am eager to see what you caught :) Feel free to send it over if it is interesting, and I can get a case file up there for you!

Sincerely,

Hello,

Am I allowed to preview the videos the Detector captures before I upload them? When I get a "positive" that is saved it seems to not go to the Videos folder that downloaded with the software but only stays in the column on the left side of the Detector window. I have uploaded images to the Project CE server but only as jpegs. I have been unable to see or save any true videos on my own computer. If I'm only uploading jpegs as aids making adjustments in the algorithms for false-positives where are the resulting videos as I don't see a record of them anywhere- either in the Videos or Images folder. Just curious.

I do of course have Lagarith unzipped, installed, and loaded in or else I gather I wouldn't have any images at all- which I do.
