White House releases staff salary data
By Jordan Fabian - 07/02/10 10:58 AM ET

The White House on Friday released the salaries of its staff members ranging from its lowest-level employees to chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.

Emanuel, press secretary Roberts Gibbs, senior adviser David Axelrod and senior adviser Valerie Jarrett make the top salary amount of $172,200 per year. Three staffers have their salaries listed as $0.

In total, the White House pays its staff $38,796,307.

"Since 1995, the White House has been required to deliver a report to Congress listing the title and salary of every White House Office employee," the White House blog says. "Consistent with President Obama's commitment to transparency, this report is being publicly disclosed on our website as it is transmitted to Congress."

I wonder what the staff bill ends up for all the free lunches they get in the White House. Working lunches that get catered by the White House, etc. etc.

I decided to do some searching, and it looks like Bush's 2008 White House paid it's staff 33 million, having gone up steadily over the years from the mid 20 millions in 2004ish. That's a pretty ridiculous rate of increase.

Zounds!

It's just the way it goes as we move toward a Socialist government.

Private sector jobs dwindle, private sector salaries decrease, private sector executives are demonized for making good money during a bad economy; and all the while, the government increase it's size and salaries.

The average salary of all government workers is now over $70,000.

The idea is, make government work so attractive that kids, instead of coming out of college wanting to be lawyers and doctors, instead strive to be government workers. The overriding goal is for the vast majority to work for the government. And then it's over; everyone will be dependent upon the government in order to survive. The people who are left in the private sector will be dependent on government for handouts, and the rest of the people will be dependent on government for their paychecks.

Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man. - Albert Einstein

How many jobs could have been created over the cost of Bush's war? Hmmmm?

If the figures are correct, that is a $5.8M increase from Bush. Almost a 20% increase.

Failing societies always end up with a few people who do the least but have the most and the rest of the people being worked to death and having nothing.

When I was young I was constantly bombarded with ads and PSAs that the US needed scientists and engineers the most. And that the most successful people were those who studied math and science. It was everywhere. When I graduated from college I found that claim to be quite incorrect. As an adult my math and science based education has led to 40% of my career being unemployed.

Look who makes the most in the US? Its the people who are as far away from math and science as possible, athletes, actors, politicians, people who run charities, executives and government employees. The US consumes technology but it no longer not creates it. Technologists are seen as mal-adjusted nerds, geeks, people to be despised. Just knowing SOMETHING, ANYTHING, is enough to get you branded. Technology is something you outsource. You would never hire an American to do that. My profession is brand new and yet it has already become the buggy whip maker and the steel worker.
