I am beginning to wonder if there was more to Phil's pink beam visions then just drug psychosis or stroke side effects.

Donald J. Trump is so much like Ferris F Fremont  from Radio Free Albemuth it is unreal.

 In this alternate history, the corrupt United States president Ferris F. Fremont (FFF for 666, ‘F’ being the 6th letter in the alphabet) becomes Chief Executive in the late 1960s following Lyndon Johnson's administration. The character is best described as an amalgam of Joseph McCarthy and Richard Nixon, who abrogates civil liberties and human rights through positing a conspiracy theory centered on a (presumably) fictitious subversive organization known as "Aramchek". In addition to this, he is associated with a right-wing populistmovement called "Friends of the American People" (FAPers).

ARAMCHEK = The Deep State

Friends of The American People = The  Alt Right

Even Ferris' insecurities and mannerisms remind me of Trump.

Can someone do a FOIA. For the FBI records on Phil?

“The corrupt US president”. You make it sound like there is only one.

The human race is a solar powered, unguided nuclear missile. It will fly around for a long time but sooner or later it will crash and explode.

True, but they were not leaders of right wing populist movements, nor did they promote conspiracy theories as a way to rally the aforementioned movement.
