The late George Carlin was not a comedian in the strictest sense of the word. He was not only a political satirist, but a prophet and a sociologist all wrapped up in an individual who was an extraordinary observationalist of human behavior. The following monologue by George Carlin is an accurate observation about our elected officials. The "truth" can at times be very disturbing!

                Don't Blame the Politician's

                                      By George Carlin

“Where do people think these politicians come from?  They don’t fall out of the sky, they don’t pass through a membrane from another reality, they come from American parents, American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses, American universities, and elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks! This is what we have to offer, this is what our system produces, garbage in garbage out.  If you have selfish ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to wind up with a brand new set of selfish ignorant Americans. So maybe, maybe, maybe it’s not the politicians who suck!”

George Carlin was right on target. The funny part about his shows was that he was speaking the truth the whole time, while the audience basically laughed at themselves and their own stupidity. Unbelievably ironic and sad at the same time.
