Working on a project about the Democratic party and whether or not they are being overrun by socialist candidates. Just want to hear people's opinions about it.

There is no doubt that Democrats are catering to the youngest voters, who all think socialism is the greatest concept because everything is free. Bernie Sanders ran on this platform, and Hillary also was spreading the "Free tuition, and free medical care for all".  Social Security and Medicare were programs we all paid into for 40+years, intended to be for age 65 retirement and medical.  Democrats came up with concepts of tapping SS and Medicare for everyone, in other words "what is yours, should also be mine", except for the fact, they would not have contributed like the rest of us did.  Obama started the worst medical concept in our history, and he ran out debt from $11T to $20T in 8 years, with more people on welfare and food stamps, low employment. Keep going on that course and it will spell a depression.

All these great socialist programs, countries with so called free tuitions and medical, have taxes you would not believe, and socialism in other countries has been a total failure. Look at ARgentina! When Obama was elected professing so many socialist programs, people were actually thinking I'm going to have free rent.

Millennials all think socialism is wonderful, Bernie told them the top 2% will pay for everything. The rich will pay for your tuition and medical, you don't have to work for a thing. I can not image giving free tuition, and watching all the dropouts because it would have no value to them, if you pay for your tuition you are not going to waste it, by saying screw class today, I'm not paying for it anyways. We already have enough that are willing to waste grants and never repay student loans, ruining it for all the other serious people.

There is a fine line between having many social programs, like welfare and food stamps for those who truly need it, or medicaid and medical programs. But that is very different from a socialist concept where those who work hard, are limited, and their wealth goes to the better good of society.

Problem is those at the bottom we have seen have made lifetime careers out of living off welfare programs from A-Z, never intending to get a job, because they are on section 8 housing, medical programs, get food stamps, and qualify for many other freebees. Having no real skills the best they could hope for is minimum wage unskilled work, so by choice, adapt to living at that level for free, and never give back to society.  They are smart enough to cheat every single aid program, they are smart enough to go to school, learn a trade and work. We have women who spit out more kids than puppys, and remain on welfare collecting for each one of those kids. Remember the lady called Octomom!

We have 10 million plus illegal immigrants in this country, and politicians advocate more and more aid and welfare programs for all of them, including the right to vote, but not tax relief for real workers in society.  We are required by federal law to not even ask them for proof of green cards, and we are required to let them enroll in our public schools. They use the county emergency rooms and never pay, and county services and are not even legally in this country. We all pay for that, they have more rights then we do. We all contribute and all pay for the public school system even if you have no children, but now we have to educate those here illegally, that is one generous social program.
