Working on a project about the Democratic party and whether or not they are being overrun by socialist candidates. Just want to hear people's opinions about it.

There is no doubt that Democrats are catering to the youngest voters, who all think socialism is the greatest concept because everything is free. Bernie Sanders ran on this platform, and Hillary also was spreading the "Free tuition, and free medical care for all".  Social Security and Medicare were programs we all paid into for 40+years, intended to be for age 65 retirement and medical.  Democrats came up with concepts of tapping SS and Medicare for everyone, in other words "what is yours, should also be mine", except for the fact, they would not have contributed like the rest of us did.  Obama started the worst medical concept in our history, and he ran out debt from $11T to $20T in 8 years, with more people on welfare and food stamps, low employment. Keep going on that course and it will spell a depression.

All these great socialist programs, countries with so called free tuitions and medical, have taxes you would not believe, and socialism in other countries has been a total failure. Look at ARgentina! When Obama was elected professing so many socialist programs, people were actually thinking I'm going to have free rent.

Millennials all think socialism is wonderful, Bernie told them the top 2% will pay for everything. The rich will pay for your tuition and medical, you don't have to work for a thing. I can not image giving free tuition, and watching all the dropouts because it would have no value to them, if you pay for your tuition you are not going to waste it, by saying screw class today, I'm not paying for it anyways. We already have enough that are willing to waste grants and never repay student loans, ruining it for all the other serious people.

There is a fine line between having many social programs, like welfare and food stamps for those who truly need it, or medicaid and medical programs. But that is very different from a socialist concept where those who work hard, are limited, and their wealth goes to the better good of society.

Problem is those at the bottom we have seen have made lifetime careers out of living off welfare programs from A-Z, never intending to get a job, because they are on section 8 housing, medical programs, get food stamps, and qualify for many other freebees. Having no real skills the best they could hope for is minimum wage unskilled work, so by choice, adapt to living at that level for free, and never give back to society.  They are smart enough to cheat every single aid program, they are smart enough to go to school, learn a trade and work. We have women who spit out more kids than puppys, and remain on welfare collecting for each one of those kids. Remember the lady called Octomom!

We have 10 million plus illegal immigrants in this country, and politicians advocate more and more aid and welfare programs for all of them, including the right to vote, but not tax relief for real workers in society.  We are required by federal law to not even ask them for proof of green cards, and we are required to let them enroll in our public schools. They use the county emergency rooms and never pay, and county services and are not even legally in this country. We all pay for that, they have more rights then we do. We all contribute and all pay for the public school system even if you have no children, but now we have to educate those here illegally, that is one generous social program.

I made a switch to the Republican Party for 2016 and Socialism was the reason. In 2008 I campaigned for Obama and just voted for him in 2012 and if you told me then I'd be voting Republican in 2016 against Hillary Clinton I would have laughed. Though a Proud Liberal I'm a true Capitalist I want policy's that give the same advantages to small business as Corporations. I want new methods to fund social security and medicare outside of taxation such as the war on Drugs and if we must be taxed Our Government and Religious institutions need to pay their fair share. On immigration I want a strong immigration policy that secures our boarders but has a fair citizenship policy that resembles the original immigration policy of the United States being you serve some time in our military you get in so when they receive their citizenship they also have a skill they can take into the real world citizen's ready to work. LGBT civil rights and Protecting the second amendment

before 2008 the GOP hated Guns HW Bush took on the NRA and signed the assault weapons ban, Raegan took Open Carry gun rights in California that was a big reason I switched!

Before 2008 it was the GOP who wanted to Flood the country with immigrants to provide cheep labor to corporations they we're as big on the freebies though they just wanted to make it legal to bring in a carvan to pick our Fruits and Veggies getting paid pennies while living in sheds on top of each other.

Before 2008 no one was saying white middle class people had no place in this country Liberal Universities we're not giving lectures on why all white people are Racist that kind of Talk got the Jews thrown in death camps in Nazi Germany and I refuse to support it here

Before 2008 it was the republicans and GOP who we're wasting tax payer funds into investigations Looking for Impeachment and it truly felt like they didn't care about anything else Felt like Newt Gringrinch and his Resistance we're hoping for anything bad to happen to blame on Clinton.

Before 2008 If you talked about Socialism with a liberal it was 2 very separate Ideologies it was the GOP who wanted to build FEMA camps as a liberal they we're the socialist and they scared me

yes the Democratic Party is over run with Socialism it has reformed the party and it's values!

Before the Great Depression there was no socialism in the USA.  I've long suspected that the Great Depression was orchestrated by globalists (bankers) for the purpose of bringing socialism to the USA and Europe, and it did just that. That's why they created the US government's infinite slush fund called the Federal Reserve Bank, which isn't federal, has no reserve, and is not a bank. And its ownership is a secret. Biggest scam in Human history, and completely unconstitutional. And it was done quietly like most bad legislation. And look what it got us?  A debt so high it can never be paid. Your children, grand children, great grand children will all be paying the debts of the 20th century. You'll never be rid of it, like radioactive contamination from Fukushima and Chernobyl.

Mankind's fatal flaw is laziness. It leads to all the other problems, and socialism is specifically directed at the laziest people in society. Add to that the four great lusts, lust for power, money, sex and violence, and you've got the Human race pretty much figured out.  I'd like to believe that Humans are capable of being more than that, but I'm always disappointed. Doesn't matter where you came from, your education, wealth, whatever. Its always the same.

When I was 5 years old I survived on ketchup sandwiches and saltine crackers. Now I live in a big fancy house and drive a new expensive car. How did that happen? It wasn't government social programs. The government never gave me a GD thing.  In fact, no one gave me a GD thing. I did it all on my own. But there are people who despise that, and people like me.  We set the bar too high.  So they want a system where they can just give up and have government mommy come and take care of them, cradle to grave.  Sad.  They're cashing in their chips on freedom.Frown

And the rich globalists are laughing all the way to the bank, which they own.
