Something I came up with ๐Ÿ˜€ :

Cannons boom, the rain falls
All so kings can dine in there halls
The mud is high
So many must die

On their face they can feel the rain
Never to see their friends again
Many soldiers sixteen years
Drown in mud and their comradesโ€™ tears

In the trenches they slip and slide
There is no place to hide
The low benches are cold and wet
They wish them and this world never met

The boys bleed
But no one hears their pleads
To stop this barbarity
And end the insanity

The shrapnel hits
Bodies dumped into endless pits
Never to see home
Going on, forever more to roam

Body parts
Mothersโ€™ hearts
Gone without a trace
Let alone a name or face

Death, it comes to us all
Be great or small
Rich or poor
Queen or whore

Addition, not mine but it adds to it nicely I think:

Blood is falling like the rain
Its crimson cloak unveils again
The sound of guns can't hide their shame
And so we die on Paschendale

The changes in style is becuase of the change in music to be honest. Embarassed I went from Metallica and Slayer to Iron Maiden and HammerFall. Embarassed Sorry if it makes for odd reading. Embarassed Laugh Laugh

I missed that you started this thread already
here's my latest..written off the cuff, so to speak..
(also my H found out one of his best army buddies died in Afghanistan today (he died a year ago..they had lost touch)..his BEST friend is over there right now..hhhmm)

somethign completely different..from THAT....

Ode to my Sanitary Napkin

Oh! Sanitary napkin, so absorbant are you!
You make me feel fresh!

For so long I had taken you for granted.
Yet soon, I won't be needing you.

For I am growing old.

You, who absorbed my monthly bleeding.

My blood sacrifice to Gia.

You, overlooked.
Taken for granted.
Resented.

You are tied to the miracle of conception
of life itself

Women of history had none such as you.
They had to make do.

NASA designed you!

You are a blessing!
Not a curse.

Gift of the Goddess,
I thank you

-Bionic

Willie Wonka quotes..
What is this Wonka, some kind of funhouse?
Why? Are you having fun?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead mean naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.
-Dylan Thomas

Is this poem sad or optimistic?

He added vermouth
Then slipped his girlfriend a martini

Code..That poem about Sofia was...awesome..
God/Godess seeks to re-unite with itself (only to split again..I'm sure) Laugh

Okay just worte this..off the cuff (forgive my juvinile writing style)

Today is my birthday. Happy birthday to me.
Celebrating one more year of live's friviolity.

From Mother to Crone, I'm in 'the zone'.
Releasing the past, entering the unknown.

Mysterious female energy rises,
full of power, wonder and surprises.

Even as my womb dries up.
I won't be having another 'pup'.

But something else is seeded in me.
What it is yet, I cannot see.

Anticipation fills me with delight,
even as it gives me fright.

Still, it feels wild and free, so..
Today is my birthday. Happy birthday to me.

Been to the same site I've been to have we? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Laugh Laugh Embarassed

There once was a woman named Jill
Who swallowed an exploding pill
They found her vagina
In North Carolina
And her tits in a tree in Brazil

On the moors Kelly walked in a daze
There she'd bark at the moon and the haze
Still her friends weren't concerned
For by now they had learned
Once a month she would go through this phase.
(author's note to the ladies: "She was a
werewolf. Now is it funny?")

There once was a man from Madrass
Whose balls were made out of brass
When he'd bang 'em together
They'd play stormy weather
And lightning would shoot out of his ass
