Art Bell - Physics & Sci Fi Science - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Science writer and author Jennifer Ouelette joined Art for a discussion on a variety of advanced physics topics, including multiverse models, wormholes, the Big Bang, particle accelerators, mini-black holes and quantum mechanics. Ouelette shared her thoughts on the existence of God, the nature of consciousness, global warming, and science education in America. She talked about her book, The Physics of the Buffyverse, which explores the use of science in the fictitious television world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel. Ouelette also pondered time travel, telepathy, and announced plans for a forthcoming book about sound.

Art Bell - UFOs & ETs - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Author and researcher David Sereda returned for a conversation about UFOs and ETs. He placed visiting extraterrestrials into different categories-- enlightened beings that can travel through a "singularity" and be anywhere in the universe in "zero time," and what we might think of as "demi-gods" who travel in spaceships in our galaxy. There is evidence that these demi-gods visited our ancient civilizations, and were for instance, involved in the construction of the pyramids, he noted.

Art Bell - Time Warp Fields - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Joining Art Bell was physicist Dr. David Anderson discussed the state of time technology from his research, as well as other labs around the world. He recapped his work from 2002, when he last appeared with Art on the show. At that juncture, his team had created small time warp fields that he said could accelerate time by 300% within the field, as well as reversing time. He described the initiation of a time warp field as quite spectacular to witness, "between the combinations of different chemical reagents and high energy lasers we use to excite or initiate a time warp field...a lot of light, a lot of energy."

Art Bell - God and Light - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Retired MD, now full-time author, Lee Baumann joined Art Bell and discussed the nature of light and how it and God may possibly be one and the same.As evidence for his theory, Baumann pointed to the famous double slit experiment, which he believes demonstrates that light is not bound by time and is "conscious." Further, Baumann said Physics shows that light and God share the same attributes: omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence.

Art Bell - Flawed Mathematical Models - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Duke University Professor Dr. Orrin Pilkey discussed how unquestioned faith in mathematical models can misrepresent future situations and lead to unmanageable plans. Quantitative models that predict where, when, and how much, are typically inaccurate, and can lead to bad decisions, he outlined. For instance, the plan to dispose of nuclear waste in Yucca Mountain in Nevada tries to look ahead one million years and presupposes that it may fail someday with leakage into the groundwater.

Art Bell - Consciousness & the Universe - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Art Bell welcomed renegade thinker and scientist, Robert Lanza, who discussed how life and consciousness are essential to the existence of our universe -- a controversial theory called "biocentrism". Numerous experiments show that everything we see out there, every single particle, depends on the presence of an observer, he said. Citing the two-hole experiment, in which particles are beamed toward a barrier with double slits, Lanza pointed out that an observed particle acts as one would expect and goes through a single hole. When unobserved, however, the particle behaves like a wave and passes through multiple slits at the same time. Lanza suggested that our observations effect the world around us as well, and without conscious observers (in the form of biological life) there would be no universe at all.

Art Bell - Approaching Catastrophes - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Author John Jay Harper warned of massive changes to the earth, climate, and health that he sees coming due to solar flare activity and other factors. Solar Cycle 24, which peaks around 2011, is predicted to be one of the most intense on record according to solar physicist David Hathaway. Harper outlined a worst case scenario in which a galactic core explosion triggers mass coronal ejections from the sun that would boil the Earth's ocean floor and cause undersea volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. There'd be mass starvation, illness, and migrations, with the loss of satellites knocking out communications on a wide scale. Satellites could also be taken out in the event of a possible space-based war, he added.

Art Bell - Intelligent Alien Life - Coast to Coast AM Classic

COAST TO COAST AM. Art Bell was joined by writer and scientist David Grinspoon, for a discussion on astrobiology-related topics. Grinspoon said astronomers have confirmed that other stars, besides our own Sun, have planets in orbit around them. There could be billions of planets out there and the probability that life exists on at least some of them is high, he speculated. According to Grinspoon, it is also likely that intelligent alien life, perhaps more advanced than the human race, is out there wondering, like us, if they are alone in the universe.
