I've heard variations of this cheerleading speech before. I was not particularly impressed with it.

I reckon it takes more to impress  me that that.

Precisely what they all do, which is why I am surprised Marco Rubio was slammed for being "robotic". Sure, maybe he said some stuff repeatedly, but they all do, ESPECIALLY Trump. Where are the attacks by the public or media on him regarding that?

Sincerely,

In all fairness to all of them on both sides, we see the daily nonstop news almost minute  to minute. We have 50 states, and they are going to many differnet places withing those states all day long, plus many times to several states in one day.  In fairness they are delivering the same message over and over and over, but to hundreds of gatherings from town halls, to stopping in a factory, or small meeting.  It looks repeatative, becasue its on the news daily, they are just taking it a state at a time, delivering the same messages.

I actually don't disagree. As someone who loves public speaking, I cringe at myself when I use the same joke or punchline in a speech, and sometimes they are separated by MONTHS. I could only imagine doing a few in one day.

My larger point is criticism for the media (and those outside the media who criticized Rubio including Trump himself) -- they ALL do it -- so why was HE singled out in that last barrage which signaled the beginning of the end for his campaign?

Sincerely,

John,

I agree with you on your larger point being in criticism of the media..and they most certainly deserve it.

I have noted over the years that the media....even the main media..has become very tabloid like. Not much different from the pulp magazinies/newspapers at the check out stands screaming "Rape."

I resent this because by association...by the media shilling for their respective political parties and candidates....the parties and candidates themselves have become tabloid like...just another version of the Tabloids/Pulps.

This is another reason I am often want to state that the standard for President of the United States is not as high as we have been mislead to believe. Same thing for Senator, Representative, Supreme Courte Judge et al.

We have been gaslighted continually by this tabloid/drama format to where we no longer know the difference. I fault both sides for not making this clear to the voting public. This sufficient for the public to catch on to these phonies on both sides...if there is any real thinking allowed to go on.

I particularly fault the Republicans for being phony enough to be silent on this when they could be educating the public...teaching them to see what is so obviously right in front of them...you just have to learn to think outside the box so to speak. Another clue that the Repubican Party is in on the scam and not conservative. They only appear to be conservative on the outside..inside they are not conservative..but part of the Hegelian Dialectic being played on the voter.

Then you begin to get a sense of "The King is Naked...the King has on no clothes."

They just continually set the hook in us emotionally..tabloid like ..and then reel us in by our unguarded, undisciplined emotions.

I do not like being jerked around by my emotions. This fingerprint is a warning flag to see what the other hand is doing.

I call this political masturbation..pardon the crudity..but both parties deserve it ..so too does the media shilling for them. I also include the entertainment industry.

I also fault the voter...

This because so many of them do not read or even think on their own. They are watchers..not thinkers and doers.

They let the television, news and movies do most of their thinking for them. Hence ...drama/Tabloids. It is easy to set the hook in many emotionally  and reel them straight into the voting booth.

I feel the same way about what public education has become..financed by the same government. A social experiment in tabloid education..the blame game/guilt programming with little individual thinking going on. This is only going to get worse as they years transpire.

Again..right into a voting booth when they turn 18.

John..I cannot begin to count the number of people I've engaged in conversation and when you ask them a question requiring some thinking or depth...they refer to a movie or television program they have watched. Their frame of reference is not  individual thinking or experienced..thought..but movies and television. They live second hand lives..second hand emotions, someone else's thoughts and emotions transplanted into them without having a clue as to what has been done...right in front of them.  They are what I call robots...drones..reacting to a stimulus..not thinking.

They have amusements...amuse.

A - without

Muse - thinking

Without thinking...something fed to them to prevent thinking. And fed to them without them being aware this has happened.

Amusements.

What is disturbing to me John is that so many of these people are voters.

How many times has someone who has fallen out of the main stream or favor been described as "Hitler."

Over the years it has been a constant stream of Hitlers..one Hitler after another Hitler.

I have come to learn that Hitler is a watchword..a clue and cue that I am supposed to automatically default to the speaker and stop arguing/debating and step off the platform and onto the train. Get on the bandwagon. Argue all you want on the platform but when the train pulls out ...get on it.

They used "Hitler" did they not?? What more can be said..they used Hitler...conversation over!!

This is one clue and cue that gaslighting is going on...setting the hook and attempting to stop all opposition ..default through ..and clear out any competition...or dissent. After all..they used..."Hitler."

It gets wolfie John....very wolfie.

Or it shows desperation. The body politic as well as the media and entertainment industry are in on the scam.

I just don't buy into it anymore. I try to think for myself.

I tire very much of the Tabloid Approach to leadership. I find it very very lacking.

To me a leader is one who would teach this knowledge to the public such that they will learn and decide for themselves and call the political  parties to account for their immaturity and dragging the public through the gutters with this immaturity. They are becoming pubescent in their approach to leadership. No  thanks, I left that stuff back in High School.

I do not need a "safe room" to see and know this.

My .02,

Orangetom

Post Script....

I have been quietly teaching young people with acumen..individual thinking abilities.. to spot this fingerprint I have described here....

This concerning people who are voters but cannot describe or relate an individual thought outside of a movie and television program they have watched.

Some of these folks have gotten back to me with feedback that they now recognize this in people that there is little sense of individual thinking going on among this type. They now see it. Xerox copies of tabloid thinking and tabloid conduct.

The same with the Hitler Fingerprint. I have also taught this to them for what it is. They now have two indexes or fingerprints by which to view the world and recognize tabloid thinking when they see it.

To recognize someone setting the hook in them and attempting to reel in their vote.

Those of you who are able..and recognize of what I am speaking...teach others to spot this and think for themselves about this and other gaslighting methods by politicians, education and the media along with the entertainment industry.

Learn...teach yourself and others  to spot/identify when someone out here is trying to set the  hook on you and reel you in. Learn this wisdom ...so as to be able to cut the line...or spit the hook...avoid the bait.

I do wonder if it is now backfiring on them. Though it might be a different bait. Seems the more they try to discount Trump, the more people seem to gravitate towards him.

On a slighty different note, I was thinking the other day after reading about a college campus, where someone had written in chalk to vote for Trump and how some students were claiming they were now afraid, that maybe the Trumpers should be using that same tactic back at them. Seems to me that they have more of an argument for that, than the anti-Trumpers. Conservitives cannot speak at college campus or other places without protesters interrupting them, sometimes in very aggressive ways.

I have tended to liken this to a sort of Judo move. Trump tends or seems to use his opponents momentum against them in a manner which appears  to confound. They do not seem to be prepared for this ...but can only cause chaos  and rudeness/baseness instead.

I am not sold on Trump..but in like manner I am not sold at all on the others. We have had many many years of professional politicians and the system seems not want to stop this pimping out of the very soul of the American people by professionals. I call it whoredom...professional whoredom. These folks give real whores a bad name. At least real whores provide a service in demand and for which someone is willing to pay. Professional politicians tend towards taking from everyone and limiting their ability to determine how the fruits of their labors are spent.

Another word for such professional whoredom is pimping out the public on a product which is not that advertised. Any credible business not delivering on the product advertised would have long ago gone out of business....with a bad reputation.

One just has to learn to think outside of the box.

I think that... just like in the days of Jesse Ventura...so many are realizing this and ready to rebel. They are ready to vote for someone else..not professional. What I find very interesting and telling both..is that neither political party is want to teach this understanding to the general public but are silent on it.

Thus again indicating that the product is not that which is advertised.

UP to now ..politics is the one occupation where the leadership can consistently fail to deliver on the product advertised ...and no one seems to notice or hold them accountable. Any legitimate/reputable enterprise or business would long ago ...have gone out of business.

You see???!!

On a slighty different note, I was thinking the other day after reading about a college campus, where someone had written in chalk to vote for Trump and how some students were claiming they were now afraid, that maybe the Trumpers should be using that same tactic back at them. LOL LOL LOL!! I know...this is tomorrows leadership...they cannot let go of the nipple and stand on their own feet ..but must of emotional necessity stand on someone else's feet.

Also..I don't believe a Pro Trump person wrote that in Chalk on the Campus somewhere. I think it was someone trying to reinforce "Victimization."

I cannot imagine something written as graffiti is worth nationwide news coverage. Wow!!

This shows how desperate also is the news media and the political party system. I hardly even consider such events newsworthy with all that is going on in the world.

This is nothing more than the double standard..demanding tolerance from others but not giving the same in return. It is bullying ...the very thing they claim others are doing.

It is also gaslighting. Trying to paint a picture of others as threatening...dangerous..insane...etc etc.

I have handled Uranium fuel cells for a living. I can tell you with certainty that these people would not make it in this job..nor would I want them around me and my team. They would never go the distance. One time around radiation or contamination and they would be wetting their britches.

I have no use for such two legged wildlife. I can in fact admire and respect four legged wildlife more than can I this two legged undisciplined variety. Two legged wildlife..and I don't care how many degrees they have..they specialize in chaos...not in discipline or going the distance.

Discipline and knowledge/wisdom is what separates civilized people from wildlife.

The other simple word or expression  used to describe such two legged wildlife...is....."High Maintenance."

Virtually all of the news media has become "drive by". And their web sites are even worse. They just give fractions of stories with no conclusions or closure. They seem to be targeting the ADD crowd.

Hollywood has merged with the porn industry, the mainstream media has merged with the tabloids, and the Republicans have merged with the Democrats. They act like we don't have serious problems that need real solutions. This is not to mention the corruption.

All of this is making people more and more angry. Trump and Sanders continue to do well.

Good thread, BV, I think your first 2 posts were spot on; especially his lack of a plan and obvious non-presidential demeanor and experience.  Getting 'the best people' doesn't necessarily mean success and begs the question, "What are their alliances, motivations and ideology"?  Isn't it odd (or maybe predictable) that the presumptive nominees are, for many on both ends of the spectrum, the least representative and most controversial.  The real election/debate we should be having is Sanders vs Cruz which would give people a real choice (in symbolism if not in actual practice), but instead it seems the people are being herded into bad choices which very well may be the same choice; just different sides of the coin.  If this primary season hasn't erased the lines of party identity/affiliation to little more than just a blur then I don't know what will.  But the indoctrination saturation is never ending and quite thorough so people inexplicably and doggedly cling to one side or the other.  I think they're both headed to the same place of big government=less liberty, just different styles of getting there.  Charley Reese's sentiments are still just as pertinent...

(This column was originally published in the Orlando Sentinel on Feb. 3, 1984.)

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

"Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the constitutional authority to vote n appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. The Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy. the Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of 238 million- are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country."...
