The most disturbing aspect of it all is that...there's so many people in the world that want this "Christian God" to exist, as despicable as the Bible makes "God" out to be, only because they so desperately want to go somewhere when they die. They throw out all rationality, looking at the "endgame", knowing that, based on scripture, billions of others will burn in "Hell" in the process. That's pretty self-centered.

Even if I knew such a "God" were real, I'd choose oblivion over spending forever with such a repugnant being...that is, if I had a choice. 🙄

It really shouldn't matter to anyone about the "Old Law" vs. the "New Law". Both testaments allegedly came from the SAME entity. The same entity that made all the evil laws, is the same entity trying to make himself/itself look like a "Saint". Would you give Charles Manson a pass if he told you "Imma be a good boy now"?

All that crap about needing to be "saved" and all. "Saved" from what? Everything that "God" created? Think about the ludicrousness of that alone.

I don't believe what I believe because it's what I desire to believe. I believe what I believe because it's what science, evidence, and logic causes me to believe.

Classic! 😎

What I don't understand is your morbid obsession with Christianity.

Your fixation on it has unfortunately colored your view on the entirety of spirituality.

You probably feel that you don't need it in your life, and I would tend to agree. But if you've never tasted it, you can't know what you're missing.

How many times do I have to explain this? For the umpteenth time, it's not that I'm "obsessed" with it. It's got to do with being frustrated about the toys that are possessed by 2 of the most conflicting religions on the planet. And that religion will be the ultimate cause of the deaths of nearly everyone. So I'm here to protest their religion.

It's got nothing to do with "spirituality".

Kinda like "tasting" mescaline? 😯

You really can't deny that you're obsessed with Christianity given all of your threads in this section.

Wouldn't you agree that if you've never tasted mescaline that you have no idea what it's like? It's also like someone who has never had an orgasm not understanding what it is even if they read a description of it or someone's account of it.

Why are you so obsessed with constantly sticking your head up my ass? I've already explained my position on this matter.

So mescaline made you see "god". 'nuff said.

So? Wow, you are barely even half-witted if that's the conclusion you derive.

He should be your avatar.

Well, you were comparing a mescaline experience to an orgasm, weren't you? That implies you've done mescaline. Then again, maybe you were speaking in the third person?...having not experienced either? Laugh

e_h

You would be taken seriously if you displayed even the slightest hint of understanding when it comes to Christianity.

What disqualifies you entirely and reduces you to the level of pest, is that you spend so much time attacking and mocking something you haven't even bothered to try to understand.

You'll see that though I occasionally make assertions about Islam for example, I don't dedicate vast amounts of time and multitudes of posts and threads attacking it because I only have general knowledge of it. If I'm wrong in what few assertions I've made, I would be happy to debate with and/or learn from someone who is learned on the subject.

You, however, make no attempt whatsoever to understand Christianity. All you apparently care about doing is listening to yourself talk about it. Those of us who have spent countless years studying the Bible and listening to the teachings of qualified scholars, can easily see in the first few words of each of your posts, that you are completely ignorant on the subject.

For example:

"e_h" wrote: All that crap about needing to be "saved" and all. "Saved" from what? Everything that "God" created? Think about the ludicrousness of that alone.

That statement is so deeply ignorant, words aren't even good enough to describe the depth of it.

Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man. - Albert Einstein

Instead of taking personal jabs, why don't you tell us all exactly what I'm wrong about?

Was the New Testament not inspired by the same "god" as the Old Testament? Shouldn't the things that "god" commands in the OT be considered evil?

Instead of just flying off the handle and saying it's ignorant, why don't you try and explain why it's ignorant? Are you really that narcissistic? 🙄

I totally realize what being "saved" is -- "saved" from our "sins". However, when "god" supposedly created us, he created every single detail about us. We can't help it if we "sin". That's "god's" screw up in the "programming" of our consciousness. Basically, we have to beg to be "saved" from "his" own screw-up...a screw-up that "he" created, along with everything else. Then if we refuse to beg "him" to "save" us from "his" screw-up, "he" sends us to another place that "he" created, which is "hell".

So, now do you understand why I say, "Saved" from what? Everything that "God" created?"
