I discovered what I think would be a pretty good prayer for someone who wants to welcome Jesus into their heart.

The music is awesome of course.

And there is the proverbial "warm up period" for the first 2 minutes of the song so don't give up on it.

Tell me your thoughts.

Doors

Take me back again,
And wake this child that's sleeping.
Slip inside my head,
and make my mind believing.

You, you open up the doors I close.
The things you do
Bleed into my heart and soul.
I try, I try to let these thoughts unfold,
Unlock my mind, and open up the doors I close.

I am not alone,
I feel you watching over me.
Slip inside my soul,
until the light is closer.

You, you open up the doors I close.
The things you do
Bleed into my heart and soul.
I try, I try to let these thoughts unfold,
Unlock my mind, and open up the doors I close.

One thing I realized during one of the heated subjects here, was that many of the prayers we say, sometimes the words just pass in and out, until all of a sudden they relate to something happening, and they just resinate. Thats what happened to me with 2 lines of the Lords Prayer I've said how many times in my life, and also a few lines in the Serenity Prayer. If you really think deeply about some prayers, word by word and line by line, what they mean, they are very powerful. Someone here mentioned and related the Apostals Creed to their lives. I can say one thing I expericenced from our board was the outpouring of people who said they were praying for me, when I had my knee joint replacments. For all those who think Prayer is useless, I can say feeling and knowing of people who Pray for you specifically, is a humbling thing. I can't totally discribe the feeling, but knowing people you never have seen, from all over the country and world, are communicating to God for you, is moving.

As for the music, it's great! I definitely like your taste in music. It seems, almost, New Age-ish.

As for the prayer, it's rather generic. I would probably change a few words here and there, but on the whole, not bad.

Glad you liked it. See, the problem is, there aren't any Christian bands in this genre so it's a real find when I come across one that sounds great and has what at least could be a Christian message.

I'm scanning the airwaves, always on the hunt!!

And you know.. though it's generic, I really do think it's a fantastic prayer for someone who wants to know Jesus but doesn't quite yet.

Generic Prayers are $5 each, and brand name prayers are $10 each. Your prayer plan requires you to take generic prayers whenever they are available. Laugh

Probably because it would be confusing to some, but I would love to see Christian music in this genre.

Does but doesn't? I have to think about that.

Hi,

It's nice frosted man, but the best prayers come directly from an individuals heart. If a person is seeking God, they will find him. Ever listen to Enya? She has some music which makes my spirit sing. She's not what would be considered a "Christian music singer" but the music is wonderful.

Thats so true greeney2. The line "Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me", {from the Psalms and used in one of the Christian creeds} is my mantra.

"wants to" but doesn't.

It's a prayer for the unbelieving person that wants to knock on the door. It's not a prayer for a believing person.

The first stanza says it all on the last 2 lines: "Slip into my head and make my mind believing."

Nice to see you item7.

What you said is true but, without the Holy Spirit dwelling within our heart, it's pretty hard to pull something of substance out of it. This song as I interpret it in a Christian way, is a nice example of what someone might pray if they want to believe, though they currently are in a state of disbelief.

It's a request for God's grace.

Hey Tom and Item 7, we are having a technical problem on the board concerning at least Item 7 and Southwestranger. Notice the name "guest". I thought this was your post Tom, but the author name is guest now. which one is the author, Frrostedman or Item 7? Are you having log in trouble, and are you showing as a guest when you do?
