Does it even matter if God is real? Would we even believe him if he showed up tomorrow?

If someone appeared from a craft, and pronounced themselves as God, it's my belief that half of the"believers" would call him a liar.

We all have our own ideas of what God would be if he were real. How could a being ever live up to all of them for all of us?

Is there any way for a being to prove to you, leaving no doubt, that they are your true savior? Is there a way? And if not,  does his existence even matter?

Just starting a conversation, I'm not attacking anyone 🙂

Faith, and its a lot easier to cast doubt than to be satisfied God is real and does exist, even if you can not see him. Atheists like to cast doubt to believers with "logic and science", and because they can not see existence of God, tell you its just a Fairy tale. They insist you prove to them is some scientific experiment, when the effort is futile to those with no Faith.   IMHO they live cynical and empty lives, and lack something in their persona or aura.  If the answer was simple, you would not have so many religions all with different theology, just count now many there are.

Logic and reason, yes. Clearly I was trying to have an intellectual conversation with open minded people. You were obviously hurt by my statement. Was it because you can't think of an answer?

I am not against faith. In my opinion all Gods have this same problem. Anyone from any religion is welcome to respond.

This came up because I was wondering how my God would appear and, would I know him if he did?

Faith only goes so far, if someone says they're my God and I don't ask for proof im an idiot.

You don't sound very open minded from your "can't think of an answer snipe".  You may sit and wait for some being to appear and tell you "I am God", so you can say "prove it". Of the Billions of people on this earth, how many times has that happened?  So you are wrong that Faith doesn't just go so far, it goes for a lifetime, and for most Faith is enough.  Those with it are secure in it, those without it are not. You apparently are not, and can not understand those who are secure with their Faith.

Instead of posing all these questions to everyone else why don't you make a list to yourself, assuming you have never seen God to challenge "prove it", what events in your own life, this earth, or experiences would convince you your Faith was enough to be sure God does exist. How many times have you said "God must have been watching me" or that  "Guardian Angel" protected me. The unexplained or devine experience,  near death experience, births, or just watching the garden grow. You can see evidence in God if you look, or just let the world pass you, and never have Faith.

I'm not sure if you want to prove God exists or doesn't. I know the answer for myself.

Wow lol you just can't get past this can you? What I'm trying to get at is, how easily could I be fooled by a charlatan pretending to be my God?

How would I know the difference?

In today's world the super powers are at a military strength level, never seen before. I've seen false flag events and had to wonder, how hard would it be, to fake a religious event? Nothing could spark  conflict better than a sign from a God.

A few holograms in the sky, lightening with the face of deity in it?

This question is still valid no matter how much you throw the f word around.

Faith will do me no good with an imposter. So how will I, or even you know ,we aren't being fooled?

The answer is we won't, unless we ask for proof. But therein lies the problem, what proof could I ask for? I couldn't think of any. So it crossed my mind, that if I couldn't tell my God from another, or even from a hoax, where did it leave me?

I still believe in my God, I just wonder if his existence matters anymore, or just the teachings he left behind.

Take offence if you like but it's just thinking out loud.

Being a follower doesn't mean following blind.

You want me to satisfy you with an answer you approve of, with a totally hypothetical scenario some being will appear someday, and how I should ask for proof? How will I know, will I be fooled?   You want a logical answer to a totally illogical hypothetical, and play the "what if" game. I would not call that question very valid, to me.

The bigger question is not waiting in limbo for this monumental event, but what is right now, today? Faith is only as blind as you can see, and if you can not see signs in you own life of God, maybe you are not looking.  Many times in my life, time is crisis and other events,  have these signs convinced me, what else can I say.   I doubt anything I say will satisfy you. If you are worried about proof to some concocted "what if" event, you probably live everyday wanting proof to satisfy you, and why sometimes all we have is Faith. You have to open your eyes to it, otherwise no proof will ever satisfy you. Sorry if you don't like the answer.

Lol ok greeny2, I get it , you're cool not knowing. But must you keep attacking me with everything you say? I believe you're a contrarian, and just have to argue.

I was trying to have a conversation, do you know what that means? I offer an opinion with merrit, then you reciprocate. All you like to do is preach.

There are many sites that do that, find one.  Although, being a contrarian, you'll probably go there with my views lol

I won't be replying anymore, but that won't stop you from having to post again, I know, I get it,you have to 🙂

Im out of this thread, back to the maze greeny2.

Sorry Jamie if I did not give you an answer to your hypothetical what if question that satisfies you.  What answer would you expect me to make up?  My opinion is from a long life of living the way I have, life events, and upbringing. Nobody else has jumped into this subject but me. If anyone else does, I'll continue in the conversation.

Greeny2, you assume I'm speaking hypothetically. I'm not. Read my "question about Abraham and  just another abductee" posts.  this is not hypothetical to me.

A being i thought was God saved myself and two friends lives.

Until the same voice called me out to a ufo fifteen years later.

But thanks for being open minded anyway right.

Just found the Abraham post, did not find the other one. I don't get into all the forums. I assume you are connecting this one with the Abraham thread, but since they are in different forums, I did not connect them.
