Registration to this forum is free. We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.
Although the administrators and moderators of The Black Vault Message Board will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is nearly impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author only and the owner of the The Black Vault Message Board will not be held responsible for the content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owner of The Black Vault Message Board reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
1. Treat others with respect.
You are to respect every other user on the board despite any personal, religious and political differences. The following will not be tolerated:
- Personal insults
- Threats or promotion of violence
2. Do not spam websites, books, or any product for sale or distribution. This is ALL considered spam.
You are asked to keep "spam" off the board. This includes, but is not limited to posts trying to sell your book... trying to get traffic to your website... selling a product... etc. This is common sense and common courtesy, and ask this not be brought to the board. Attempts to spam will be deleted, and warnings will be issued. If you feel a RESOURCE is worthwhile, and would like it posted for consideration, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org privately.
3. One user account per person.
The use of 2 or more posting accounts is prohibited. If you can't say what you need to say with your user account then it probably shouldn't be said in the first place.
4. Respect the moderator.
Moderation is a thankless task. You can't please all the people all the time but the moderator will do their best to be fair to everyone.
5. Don't feed the trolls.
By its nature, this board is likely to attract its share of trouble makers. Trolls thrive on attention so the best thing you can do is to ignore them and report any offending post to a moderator who will deal with the situation. Getting into flame wars with a troll is exactly what they want you to do, so don't give them the satisfaction.
6. No nudity / Porn / Warez (Illegal software)
This is common sense, but we are not interested in illegal software (pirating movies, software etc.), no nude pictures or videos, or pornography. All of these are illegal here, and are not welcome.
7. Source third-party material
We do welcome third-party material here. This includes, but is not limited to, news articles, reports, etc. We welcome you to "copy and paste" the material - but do not claim it as your own. We ask you source the material at the bottom of the work, so others know it is not your own, and is sourced properly.
Also, we ask you only post a few paragraphs of the article (generally the message is conveyed) but NOT the entire article. Then, offer a link at the bottom of the excerpt to "keep reading" if the reader chooses to do so.
The warning system is used to remind members of the rules and guidelines. If you make a post that violates the rules you will be given a warning that will outline what rule has been violated and your may be asked to edit your post. If you have logged off the board and are unable to edit your own post, the post may be edited by a moderator.
A warning will be given to a member the first time he/she violates a certain rule. There will only be one warning given for each type of violation. If a member continues to violate that rule a ban will be placed on the account.
Here is a list of what you can be warned for:
- Personally insulting/abusing another member
- Posting private communications from, or personal information about another poster
- Found to be operating multiple accounts
- Promoting dangerous or illegal activities
The Black Vault reserves the right to ban any account, at any time, for disobeying the simple rules above. Although the best effort will be kept to issue ample warning(s), the right is reserved to ban without one if the offense is serious enough.

Posts: 155 It is pretty hard to report a post or an individual if there is no "Report" Button.
Alpha you should have a report button right above your edit button, the yellow shield. Look at the symbols you see and it should highlight when you put the curser on it. Click and a report box should appear. Also you can PM any of us or John.

If you're not allowed to say...(I'm not falling for it)...if we're not allowed to swear then it might be a good idea to put that in the rules.
Vulgar does not count as swearing because vulgar means something that is (in this case) indecent, obscene, rude or crude. Many words and arguments could fit under that description; calling someone an idiot falls under that criteria for god sake (same as "for god sake" come to think of it). It's just nonsensical as well; Vulgar is at the top, out of the way (I had to read it three times before I saw it), but yet the other rules are down below out of the way.
Edit: Question...is BS swearing?

I think we all know what is offencsive, vulgar, and what your Mother would wash your mouth out with soap for. As far as respect, it isn't just respect for the people, its respect for this site itself. The subject matter in all these forums can be very controversial, so the last thing needed is to disrespect the very place we can express them. Questionable language only drags the Blackvault into the gutter along with that mentality.
Common sence should prevail on choice of language, we don't need a list of bad words to know better.

The bottom line here, is to be careful! In ALL respects!! Of course follow the rules of the board for the enjoyment and seriousness of everyone here. These are fields that have LONG struggled for recognition in a serious scientific community and world. But they may well be thee MOST important topics and discussions that mankind has ever asked, faced or will in the future! ...On that note, be careful! Spies are everywhere. Disinformation Specialists are everywhere, hiding out among the very best and most loyal Ufologists, Cryptozoologists, Spiritualists and Truth-Seekers! TRUST NO ONE!
