New intelligent defense systems invites pre-approved hackers. I initially thought this was the White House (I know I read somewhere the same invite was to try and hack the new security at the White House - I swear it).
According to rumors, the hack only took 3 minutes. Apparently the hack opened up a channel to multiple hackers in which multiple successful attempts to crack their new system "allegedly" flooded the system to a crawl.
Nothing says stupid like having an open invite to hackers anonymous. Glad to see the good guys still plugging away.

wow...just wow..inviting hackers to break into the pentagon. man, that smells of conspiracy and setting up these hackers to get arrested. but, there's also a good side to this. it shows that maybe, just maybe, the pentagon is willing to let these hackers get into their systems to help the pentagon patch up the holes and perhaps get an idea of what the hackers are using to break into any of their computer systems.
i firmly believe that in the realm of cyberspace is where the new combat will take place. forget dropping bombs or launching missiles. the new battleground is the internet and the soldiers are the hackers.
