The following news article appeared in the Dutch news on 18 June 1945. Just weeks after the fall of Berlin. Belgium NAZI leader Leon Degrelle said he saw Hitler the day before the Russians invaded Berlin. By a secret plan Hitler escaped according top NAZI Degrelle, Who escaped himself from Berlin to Oslo to Spain.

AwE130 found this article (18 June 1945) it is a very early indication that Hitler may have escaped from Berlin. Degrelle died in 1994 and was never arrested, until his last day he promoted Hitler and the NAZIs.

Do you have any clues to the ideas Hitler had escaped and lived a life in South America, as some of the other top level Generals did?  I do not remember the Generals names but several did make their way to Argentina(I think), how did they get out, what was their means of escape?  Stands to reason if Hitler did escape it could have been the same way, or even same time, they may have all gone to the same places.  Personally I think he killed himself in the bunker, because it was very common, as the Germans feared what the Russians were going to do to them, if captured.  OReilly's Killing Patton, spells a lot of that out very well.

The escape of Hitler has appeared in tabloid news from time to time as long as I can remember. Joseph P. Ferrell has written about the escape of top Nazis and scientists to South America in some of his books.     There is the rumor that they had some long range aircraft and air fields for refueling in Africa and South America:  the rat line or something.

The brief alternative history of some of the top Nazis that I have is like this.  Some of them did go to Argentina with the help of the OSS, but some of the top Nazis went to other places in return for their cooperation.

As the Russians were surrounding Berlin, Hermann Goering sent a letter to Hitler carefully requesting that he succeed as head of the German government.  Goering had long been designated to take over if anything happened to Hitler.  Hitler's secretay Martin Borman read the letter first.  The top Nazis did not trust Goering or each other.  Borman then asked Hitler to appoint another successor and place Goering under house arrest.  Between Borman and Hitler, Admiral Karl Donitz was chosen.  The other top Nazis found Donitz acceptable.   Joseph Goebbels who was staying in the Berlin bunker then shot Hitler so Donitz could take over and surrender, something Hitler would never do.

Many of the other Nazis did live on.  The OSS faked the death of Hermann Goering and gave him a new  identity in the USA.  He lived in New York City mostly but sometimes in Toledo, Ohio.  Goering died of an overdose of heroin in 1957.  The OSS gave Joseph Goebbels a new identity, and he lived in Chicago until his death from heart disease in 1974.  The OSS sent Adolf Eichmann to Buenos Aires.  He died there from liver disease in 1952.  Mossad and the Jews executed someone by that name in 1962, but they had the wrong man.  The OSS gave Joseph Mengele a new identity in Los Angeles, California.  He died there in 1983 from cancer.  Heinrich Himmler was captured by the British.  He was given a new identity and lived in Toronto until 1965 when he was assassinated by Mossad. Martin Borman was given a new identity in Saint Louis.  The CIA had him shot in 1956 for refusing to cooperate with them.

Sorry but looking up everyone of these names, someone is wrong, since the majority of them committed suicide, as Hitler did.
