The bill was first proposed in 2009 but made little progress after a storm of criticism over a death penalty provision in the original bill.

He said instead that gays should face up to seven years in prison.

“The parliament should be given the opportunity to discuss and pass the bill, because homosexuality is killing our society,” Ssempa told the committee.

Landlords who rent rooms or homes to homosexuals also could get seven years.

That's fing disgusting.
Talk about human rights abuse.

I saw a story on some news show a year or two back about a young homosexual man in Dubai.
He was walking at night and a group of guys grabbed him and gang raped him calling HIM gay as they did it.
He went to the police for help and HE was arrested for being gay. That poor kid. My heart broke for him.

Insanity.

Yet we are supose to treat the Muslim like they are a peaceful religion, when in fact the agerage everyday Muslims went nuts, and burned out over 60 Christian churches, rioted, and killed people over a news story saying "Even Mohammad himself would be happy with beauty pagent participants". They are not a tolerant religion, and they control the laws in many countries.

And people think we are oppressed with our laws, imagine being a gay, a child, or woman in many Islamic controled countries.

If Islam is such a war mongering religion, why are more people in mosques than prisons in America, especially considering religious profiling? Are they just not getting caught?

I don't think this is about Islam the religion it's a maybe certain Persian cultures and the need for them to join us in the present century (even we have a long way to go)
Our cultures could probably learn things from each other if we gave it a chance

I have to admit I am surpized looking up uganda, the predominant religions is Roman Catholic and other Christian religions, something about 80%, and the Muslim religion is around 17%. I thought this was a predominantly Islamic country.

I think it has something to do with Uganda being under English control until 1962.
