Once again, it is the Champagne chess tournament of New Years Eve. The tradition lives on, and will begin in just a few hours. Wish me luck, I;ll need it. Laugh

Go get him Greeney!

Rule of thumb, always have a purpose for every move.

Not as easy as it sounds! Especially when you're drinking! lol

I love chess. Too bad I'm so terrible at it. 🙁

How about this, I'll not spoil either of you two's luck, I'll just say may the man who made better decisions during the game win. Equally fair to all parties. 😛

I played chess a couple years back with a younger man who I think just wanted to win to say he defeated a math teacher, like that has anything to do with it Laugh I was trying to move with a purpose but he kept trying to rush my decision and my mistake was obliging and rushing. One of my strats is to wait intentionally after I know what I want to do to try to make the opponent impatient and throw him at least slightly off balance. Won't work against the pros though. After my friend won, he did say that when I started losing pieces that I didn't panic and kept trying to win anyway. That's how I am with PVP which is real-time strategy; I will never quit no matter how much I've lost, and hopefully take the queen out in the process. Chess is a wonderful game though I suck at it.

I use Paul Morphey's style of playing.

My chess ability is probably as bad as my spelling, but we love to play it. You don;t need to be an expert to have fun at anything.
