If guns don't kill people, people kill people...

then why is it such a big deal to sell firearms to the Contras or whatever?

Bcause someone is making money off war?
Because we are aiding people that will probably turn on us one day?

My big question about gun control..and it's not even one asked much in the gun control ommunity (aka, "those pinko leftie twits")
Is why is their no age limit on who gun own and or use a gun?
There is an age limit on consumption of alcohol, smoking cigarettes, driving a vehicle, joining the military..but any kids can own and shoot a gun??
That is insane to me.

Willie Wonka quotes..
What is this Wonka, some kind of funhouse?
Why? Are you having fun?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams

Selling arms to the enemy is not much different than selling intelligence to the enemy. It amounts to Treason, which is forbidden by Article III Section 3 of the US Constitution. The saying "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" is a phrase which enlightens us to fact that there are (and most likely always will be) evil individuals out there with criminal agendas. These people will commit their crimes by any means available whether restricted by law or not. However, it would not be wise to supply your enemy with a tool to kill if there intention to kill is apparent ... regardless if that tool was money, a baseball bat, knife, gun, cannon or nuclear missle.

What the right to bear arms provide us is the ability to maintain the balance of power between We The People and those in positions of power who command our military.

Of course there's an age limit. You have to be 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun and 21 to buy a handgun. Now, privately you can give your kid a gun at any age (just like how you can technically give your kid a smoke or an alcoholic drink).

War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.

Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.

Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.

War = Life

Let me ask you a simple question. Do guns kill people or do people kill people? I believe you already answered it. In light of what you said, why not sell arms to foreign countries: after all, it's not guns that kill people it's people that kill people.

[Question:] Do guns kill people or do people kill people?
[Answer:] Guns don't kill people, People kill people.

[Question:] Why not sell arms to foreign countries: after all, it's not guns that kill people it's people that kill people.
[Prelude to Answer:] You previously said "why is it such a big deal to sell firearms to the Contras or whatever?", now you are saying "why not sell arms to foreign countries." Can you clarify who your target subject is, as it will impact my answer to the question? For the time being I will assume you mean Enemies and answer your question from there.
[Answer:] We shouldn't for the same reason we shouldn't share our nuclear technology. For the same reason we shouldn't share our classified military secrets. For the same reason we shouldn't share our histories of NASA space research. It is Treason to arm or empower enemy combatants and would serve no interest for our nation.

Why would you be in favor of giving a weapon to someone who has told you they will kill you with it? I guess I just don't understand where you are trying to go with this.

A very good question.

Why would you be in favor of allowing a population to have guns who you know some of whom will kill others with them?

I'm sure there are many good reasons and I am curious.

Why would you allow a population that follows the rules have to disarm themselves of guns and a means of protection, from those who abide by no rules, and have guns nobody knows about, and propensity for crime as their profession, to kill you with?

Guns do not kill people, the people do, usually the dishonest people, kill the honest ones. What is the logic in disarming honest victims?

Then by the same token what's the harm in arming other countries?

A very good question.

Why would you be in favor of allowing a population to have guns who you know some of whom will kill others with them?

Why would you be in favor of allowing the population to have cars when some of those people drive drunk and kill others with them? Why would you allow a population to have kitchen knives when some of those people will stab others with them? Why would you allow a population to have pressure cookers when some people could use them as bombs and kill others with them?

The answer to all these questions is the same, the benefits outweighs the risk.

In regards to guns, the benefit is allowing We The People to maintain the balance of power with government; as well as personal protection

In your, "why not just arm the enemy" argument... What is the benefit? There is no benefit, only risk.
