STARPULSE
Sean Penn has opened fire on critics of his recent mercy mission to Haiti, stating he hopes they all die of rectal cancer.
The controversial "Mystic River" star has been so caught up in the relief effort in earthquake-ravaged Haiti in recent weeks, he hasn't paid attention to what politicians and newsmakers have been saying about him.
But, now he's home, the 49-year-old can't believe his actions have upset so many people - and he's disturbed that his critics can't just see the good in what he's trying to do in Haiti, where he helped establish a private relief organization.
In a taped TV interview, which will air this weekend on CBS News Sunday Morning, Penn rages, "Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I'm not going to spend a lot of energy on it."
He isn't letting the criticism affect his plans to return to Haiti - and he's taking his teenage kids with him: "They're gonna help... The first person served by service is the server. You know, there's nobody in the world that isn't looking for a kind of purpose in life, and tangible purpose is the most immediately recognizable."

I'm not sure I agree with that statement about classy actors being gone, maybe its we have a few more screwy actors like Penn to notice. Too bad we do have so many terrific actors who have personal lives in shambles and their politics where the sun doesn;t shine. But we still keep them multimillionaire anyway. Everyone just say Jane Fonda. 🙄

I have mixed feeligns about sean Penn.
he's talented and smart..and generous, and humble, in a way
But he's also arrogant, vain, angry narcistic and stupid in a way
Guess that makes him human.
I think what he did and does for the powerless in this world is admirable..but feel the need to say that he can help those people all he wants and it still won't make right what he has done to his wiofe and kids..how he has wronged them..the only way to make that right..is to make that right
one thing does not make up for the other
Someone on a message board I used to go to once told the story of her wealthy sister. The sister felt herself a saint. She gave and gave to charities and headed up many a volunteer organization. BUT..She tended to be a 'know it all' and generally acted kinda bitchy to people in her precense that she felt were 'below' her. (service people and such)
This sister also blew off her family and tended to treat them like crap. Was stingy with them.
People compartmentalize.
They don't realize that the one aspect of their life does NOT equal out the other
God see's ALL.

Why? Are you having fun?

TMZ had Sean Penn kicking a camera man and his car, really getting hostile with him.
so???..maybe if you had to go through the harrasement ,and crap he has to go through with the papparazi...you'de be ready to take a golf club at them ,,at some point...or want to kick their car. 😕 😎 👿
he's human, like bionic said...(he doesn't claim to be perfect either)
and I personally admire all hes done, with the relief efforts he has contributed to..
I ,for one would trust giving money to him, 100 times more ,than Clinton or Bush Jr.
at least he actually goes where he wants to help, and gets his hands dirty ,so to speak, and sees for himself, what is really needed.
AND..he brings his kids along ,so they can feel the true reward of helping as well..???
WOW...whats wrong with that???
keep on keepin' on Sean Penn...(you are an inspiration to many)

Sean Penn is another Jane Fonda with outdoor plumbing. The clip I saw of him kicking the camera man, could put him in Jail for up to 18 months. It was a serious assault, unprovoked by any violence. When you are in the rich and famous, getting photographed is part of the game. I don;t see too many others doing what he did.
**File Photo** * PENN CHARGED WITH BATTERY & VANDALISM Actor SEAN PENN has been charged with criminal battery and vandalism following a violent run-in with a paparazzo. Penn was captured on video attacking the unnamed photographer, who was following him in Brentwood, California last October (09). It was later broadcast on website TMZ.com. During the scuffle, the snapper's camera was damaged. Penn was officially charged with the two misdemeanour counts on Friday (19Feb10). He faces 18 months behind bars if convicted. The actor will be arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court on 22 March (10). It's not the first time Penn has been reprimanded for his violent outbursts - the 49-year-old Oscar winner was sentenced to 60 days in jail for punching a movie extra on the set of the police drama Colors in 1987. He was on probation at the time for punching a songwriter at a Los Angeles club. and there were probably 1000 celebrities that secretly applauded him..those camera men can be dicheads...
walk a mile or two in his shoes greeney...
lets see how you handle the intrusion, and down right rudeness...
on a constant basis...because they are actors..they should expect to be treated like crap??
hmmm..hardly think the "public" OWNS them..its their job to act...
and they shouldn't owe us every lil peice of their private life as well..

1000 may applaud him, but only he kicked and assulted the cameraman. You may have sympathy for him, but just like Jane Fonda denouncing the nUSA in North Viet Nam, Sean Penn did the same thing in Iraq, and also with Hugo Chavez. Sean Penn is a very great actor, I even love his movies, but he is also a history of domestic volence, drugs, fighting, and going off. He is a jerk in simple terms. Suck it up when the camera is on you, expecially when controversay is your middle name, you are a target. Goes with the territory.
