Without question this is an unbelievable American problem. But what to do? Never, and I mean never, have I seen so many people with ridiculous weight issues. It's as if they've thrown in the towel, or waved the white flag.

It's not restricted to any one demographic either, frightening to say the very least.

This past Friday my wife dragged me off to the water park, one of the countries biggest and of course, as a result, most expensive. The people come form all, well mostly all walks, but those who are in shape, fit and trim, are quickly fading away. Overrun by those who are almost too big to comprehend, I'm not exaggerating. It used to be that some people who had medical issues would stick out like sore thumbs, now they simply blend into the average crowd. To me, well shall I hold my tongue and be politically correct, or blast away from the hip with my scatter gun?

Young children under the age of 7 approaching 120 lbs are very common place, parents, usually momma well beyond 220-250----------many close to, if not over 300 freaking pounds.. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Where shall the line be drawn, who shall draw it? Is this why a person who is in shape and just so happens to need a Doctor or an emergency room visit due to accident have to be FORCED TO PAY SUCH RIDICULOUS PRICES FOR SERVICE..........?? Or is it something other, Cigarettes maybe?????????????/ WTF.......GREED.

Something has to be done about this runaway obesity...........it's unreal when a water park has 40,000 guests half of which or on this past Friday 2/3's of which, were women and the only qualified bikini wearer, or two piece wearers, were all under the age of 18 and half of them ( the dozen or so ) should have been in a one piece..... ๐Ÿ˜• It's sad to see the youth of this country unable to walk across flat ground without having to take a rest after such a short distance. They can't all be addicted to food yet it is true that they miss damn few meals because food is so easily available at these theme parks/water parks.............whatever!!

A huge woman, I mean huge, trudged over to where I was sitting while watching my young one play in the water............I was working a crossword puzzle and eating a snack bar.........she sat down right next to me on my daughters towel no less ๐Ÿ˜ˆ and asked me ( I KID YOU NOT ) " Ah,, Humn........AH ...WHERE did you get that snack bar " ๐Ÿ˜ฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฏ To which I replied.............." Out of my backpack " I cringed and waited but she only stared................for a brief second I thought .....well......... Laugh

And there's more, much more...............seems some inner city folks were bussed down from Louisville, about a 60 mile or so bus ride down I-64.........4 Rickety old school buses, maybe 5-----------fully loaded and NO A/C---------The heat index was above 100 on Friday, well above................Some Government UNDER THE GUISE OF RELIGION program.......But something tells me this is for another thread all together...........but a quick thought:

You haven't really lived until you've had to sit and watch/listen to a 300 plus pound inner city woman yell to her 5 year old child, at the top of her lungs, in front of hundreds of other people

" SHUT UP " " GET OVER HERE NOW " turn and yell to her cousins kids, Uncle, Auntie, and 130 lb boyfriend all sitting at a table with other people from God Knows where......." SAVE ME SOME OF THE DAMN FUNNEL CAKE " " DON'T YOU DARE EAT IT ALL UP BEFORE I GET ME A BITE "

The priceless part.....................These animals.........( trust me " that's what they are.............have absolutely no shame.................none.............Zero..........and they do a fine job of infecting all others within their communities. People scatter when they group up near to any place selling refreshments.........it's a sad case...........and why people shun it and are afraid to admit it and tell it like it is, is quite frankly beyond my comprehension.......

I have to say Cole, when I add the way you reply to people on this board, and read what you just wrote, the only thing beyond my comprehension, is understanding what makes you such a disrespectful jerk.

What I said is absolute fact...............period. And I'm not afraid to speak the truth..........if that makes me a jerk, an asshole,a dickwad-- however you care to put it......so be it.. I really don't care one way of the other.

People in general---------just as I implied above..............not once did I single a person out by name.............have gotten much much bigger these past 3 or so decades............it's in too many to count publications, and has spawned too many to name weigh-loss---------scam, take the money and run, BS Companies...........enough already-------------oh not to mention the plastic surgery boom, you know Greeney the one tax payers foot the bill for in certain situations......... Laugh Laugh Laugh :boohoo: :boohoo:

Pathetic how conveniently you run from the truth and use a slur to pass it all off........but that's oh so typical, isn't it!!!!! Great finger pointer, or is it rock tosser?

It's not my fault people in general have become huge lazy slobs........so fire away and I'll keep avoiding the fast foods--and the Like, soft drinks included, not to mention the other crap they shove in stuff in an effort to gain longer shelf life. I should be an easy mark on this one---------surely I'd stick out like a big old sore thumb.. Laugh Laugh

Don't tell me that you watch the Biggest Loser...............or consider it an appropriate form of exploitation...............I'm not sure I could bear it. Laugh

HERE: This sums it all up................a " dot org " just for you.

http://www.obesityinamerica.org/

one of thousands of such sites......

or 53 some odd million per google... ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ................ But I suppose that's 53 million referenced JERKS in your book.......... Laugh

Wow didn't you make a comment about the ACLU in a recent post in regard to incarcerated Black men and how today's numbers are larger than those who were enslaved........??????? The absent Daddy thingy dingy..........lol..............maybe you should stand up and be counted in that regard, write a letter, make a phone call. LOL..Maybe you can solve the debt issue all by yourself...............call it " Greeny's keep yo pecker in yo pants prop oi812 "

Just think of the money it would save, the crime it would bring to a screeching halt!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's time you welcomed the Pot into your kitchen once and for all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good day Sir!

U.S. Obesity Numbers Continue to Swell

Americans are still getting fatter, according to a new report issued by two public health groups.

In the past year, obesity rates rose in 16 states and fell in none, according to the eighth annual "F As In Fat" report, prepared jointly by the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Twelve states now have obesity rates of 30% or more, led by Mississippi at 34.4%, the report says. That's up from a single state over 30% four years ago.

On the other hand, only 11 states and the District of Columbia had rates under 25%, down from 19 three years ago.

Only one state remains below 20%, the report says -- Colorado is at 19.8%.

"There was a clear tipping point in our national weight gain over the last twenty years," according to Jeff Levi, PhD, executive director of the Trust for America's Health.

The swollen numbers are having an effect on the health of Americans, with marked increases in diabetes and hypertension, the report says.

"We can't afford to ignore the impact obesity has on our health and corresponding health care spending," Levi said in a statement.

The report is issued yearly by the two groups, but this is the first time it has looked at trends in obesity, according to a news release accompanying the report.

Among the findings:

In 1991, no state had more than 15% of its people classed as obese, with a body mass index of 30 or more.
In 2011, 38 states have obesity rates higher than 25% percent โ€“ more than one out of three.
Since 1995, obesity rates have doubled in seven states and increased by at least 90% in another 10.
Nine of the top 10 states in obesity rates are in the South โ€“ in order after Mississippi, they are Alabama, West Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Arkansas. Michigan is number 10 on the obesity scale.

It's a "debilitating and costly epidemic," said Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The information in the report "should spur us all" to develop ways to reverse the growing problem, Lavizzo-Mourey said in a statement.

Aside from the state-by-state data, the report also found ethnic, racial and socioeconomic variations in obesity:

Among adult blacks, obesity rates were higher than 40% in 15 states, higher than 35% in 35, and higher than 30% in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Among Latinos, rates were above 35% in four states and 30% or more in 23.
At the same time, adult obesity rates among whites were higher than 30% in only four states and nowhere higher than 32.1%.
Nearly 33% of those who didn't finish high school are obese, but only 21.5% of those who graduated from college or technical college.
Among those who earned less than $15,000 a year, more than 33% were obese, compared with 24.6% of those who earned at least $50,000 annually.

Among other things, the report urges more money for obesity prevention, tough standards for school lunches and other foods sold to children outside of school meal programs, and implementation of strategies to increase physical activity.[/color

You're very welcome! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Soon I suspect persecution akin to that of the smoker....maybe a weigh limit sign, or scale as you check in, especially if a family is going to sit outside on the deck............you know a safety feature------------for everyone's own good. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Seriously.............get a grip, stop running from the cold hard reality which is better known as the freaking truth.

Fat people are a blight on America. I have had a battle of the bulge my entire life, but keep my weight in check Just got me a hybrid bike. It's hard to diet in the South where our favorite foods are grits, fried chicken, and rice with gravy.

LOL LOL LOL...this is incredibly funny...it is also incredibly stupid as well.

We here in America should have an Amendment to the Constitution of the United States that all peoples should be in shape so that they "Look Good and Marketable to the next person.

People should be pretty ...just like the homes in HGTV. We deserve as a people to not be affronted/confronted by uglyness....we are all good people..therefore we deserve to be surrounded by beauty and people who fit well into bikinis.

This kind of thinking is very feminine. To be surrounded by beauty and all that pleases us.

People should be told what to eat...on what to spend their monies. Controlled regulated..like cattle...bread and marketed for beauty..just like cattle...breeding stock.

Yup...just another Goyim...cattle.

Yup..just another ..."I'm sitting on the only one in town...the only opinion which counts.

People who are not in shape...are a blight on the rest...they should be fined..imprisioned for such offense and non usefulness.

They should all be beautiful/HGTV...even though most of them know how to do next to nothing...but have mostly a television and movie education...in emotions and consumption rates.

Astonishing!!!

Beauty and usefullness are on the inside first.....not on the outside.

Thanks,
Orangetom

Hard to believe that you fail to understand your own post, so what gives? You doubt that TV and Media haven't been in control of Americans for decades now............ you're kind of off the beaten path wouldn't you agree!

No one said anything about beauty, or ugly.....someone did say something about Obesity. I'm quite sure that many an obese person is ( drop dead gorgeous ) both men and women alike......The Ugly part of the topic is the fact that it is truly UGLY when a 30 year old person in today's society can't manage a flight of stairs without getting winded, or needs one of those motorized carts when they do their grocery shopping, or needs a handicap plate to keep from passing out when they have to walk after parking a few yards from the front door of a business, or restaurant......

Taking one's head from the sand might be a good first step in acknowledging the severity of the American Obesity issue, maybe then we'll end the ridiculous play on words rebuttals altogether.

For every person who can't help it, or has a legitimate medical issue, there are thousands who have given up, or simple don't care. Many look to BLAME ANOTHER for their problem, or ASK FOR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE from some specialized program............When are where does it end?

As a side note: Personally I prefer a one piece, it leaves a bit more to the imagination which I find intriguing! ๐Ÿ˜‰
