I'm reading that Newsweek (I read on a blog that it's a surreal reminder of the movie Trading Places) sold for one dollar? The whole company, lock, stock and barrel. One dollar? Of course, they did manage to lose $20 million already this year, so maybe theyr'e not even worth a lousy buck.
Maybe their slobbering love affair with President Obama was enough to finally do them in.
I like how Glenn Beck puts it in an email I got:
"Just to put that in perspective, the website Lycos once sold for $13 billion dollars. Where did it all go wrong with Newsweek? Was it their editor equating Barack Obama to God? Was it the declaration that we're all socialists now? Or was it the stubborn dedication to producing one crappy piece after another?"
Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man. - Albert Einstein
