A man who was prevented from buying a bottle of wine in a Sussex supermarket because he was with his 15-year-old daughter has criticised its policy.

Now not only can't kids drink with out it being looked down upon for no reason but now an adult can’t even buy alcohol if a kid is standing next to them. This is BS at it’s best:

Richard Dodd, of the British Retail Consortium, said: "I think parents should actually be reassured to see retailers being so rigorous in their determination not to sell alcohol to under-18s."

I bet you he’s a labour supporter (poor bastard 🙄 Laugh ). That is Jacqie Smith proportions of spin, there is soooooooo much spin on that it’s gone round a corner on it’s own. Laugh 🙄

Why do people have it in there head that teenagers can’t drink sensibly 😕 ? There are many other's that can't yet young people get picked out. My parents have always lived by the idea that `it’s there, have it if you want`. And that’s with most things, sweets, fizzy drinks, fast food (I hate that anyway). If you take the stigma away where’s the point of it? There’s no lasting fun to get had with a beer and there’s no `buzz` you get from it if you know you can have it anyway.

You just get morons going out trying to get pissed because it’s `wrong`, I’ve never got drunk but the only time I got close I didn’t enjoy the next morning. Embarassed Cry

At the end of that day where’s the fun in something if you know you can have it when you want?

Attaching a social stigma onto something like alcohol does not work. It’s not like drugs or smoking because it WILL NOT KILL YOU IF YOU’RE SENSIBLE ABOUT IT! Drugs and smoking will no matter what you do, they will kill you in the end if you keep taking them. 🙄

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/eng.....169564.stm

If you want to drink fine, but don't moan if you're too stupid to drink sensibly. 🙄

Edit: If anyone can tell me the `fun` in going out to get drunk I'm all ears.

What we've got going on, pretty much worldwide, is a combination of socialism and fascism, and its getting hard to tell the difference. You've got this segment of people in power, and whoever is pulling their strings, who think government should run people's lives. The 21st century is shaping up to look a whole lot like the 20th century, government a$$holes out of control.

"Its not about the money. Its about the money." -My former doctor

We're going from forced medical treatment to a ban on access to medical treatment. UK is already there.

The word fascism isn't very nice though. commie sounds so much better.

I don't care what anyone says, the Labour government has gone into fascism.

UK is already there.

Yeah we're normally a few years in front of everyone else (look at evolution, Europe is still waiting for it), why can't we be behind on this? Cry 😡

Most of the great evil movements of the past began with the concept by someone who thought they knew best for everyone else. Thats what we got going on now. Big Bro.

I'm thinking Brown ought to be easy to get to now. Laugh
Hey, you are talking arrogant snob elites. What do you expect? But our moron is worse than your moron. As a Scot, I am embarrassed over Brown though.

Compare how our moron treats our cops!

At least the man can laugh.

Here I'd get shot. Laugh Laugh Laugh

I don't know the whole story but from what he said I agree. The stupid remark is fair in my book, hell Tony Banks called our coppers useless once I think. Laugh

well, i'll bet we don't hear all that story..
FIRST off, hey, it's the stores BUSINESS who they sell to..

and then, maybe the guys daughter was pie eyed..

half naked..
or looking like she needed a wash, or some new teeth..
and it was a judgement call.
maybe he was already drunk..
reeked, or just plain stupid..

maybe he was dumb and asked her if that was the wine she wanted..

or maybe the store clerk was ragging it that day..

hey, obviously, he didn't already have his money out..
or gunga din at the register wasn't in a one with all mood and wanted to jag off a white guy..
or the other way around..

hey, it's a free country..
maybe they know him..and don't like him..

my dad never took me in with him to get booze..
so..
tell him to act his age, and go it alone for five minutes..
and ask the register girl if she likes to party..
