Today I saw something on TV that brought tears to my eyes. As a grown man who's experienced many things in life, that is something not so easy to accomplish, especially from something on TV.
It was an interview conducted by Dan Patrick, Jerry West was the guest. Jerry opened up about his childhood, and in particular, his abusive Father----------something no one ever knew anything about aside from his immediate family. It was very moving and very difficult to listen to.
He's written a book ( a tell all ) about his life growing up under such circumstance. If I hadn't have seen the interview I would probably have written it off as just another person making the rounds in an effort to sell copies of the book. I'm glad a caught it.
I've been lucky in life, I've seen and done more than many ever will, but that was by far one of the most moving, one of the very best things I've ever experienced.
Jerry West, not only a living legend, a God to some----------------but a Man's man through and through. What guts, and what class.
