Sunday night I turned on the 11pm news expecting to hear the saga of OJ and his release in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Instead we all saw the Las Vegas massacre unfolding in real time.

As the coverage continued, the shooting had started less than 30 minutes earlier, and stories of all the surrounding casinos began, MGM, Ex Caliber, people running and hiding, as it was reported shootings in several. One phone interview was a lady in Ex Caliber saying her daughter phoned from the concert, she had been trampled, the mother hiding from a supposed shooting. Turned out none of the other casinos had a shooting, and we all know now a long gunman broke out windows in Mandalay Bay, shooting down into the concert.

Shocking that a CBS VP and a school teacher were making asinine comments about country western people were Trump supporters, and basically condoned this shooting of Trump people. Stories of ISIS and ANTIFA came out praising this act. Sick that is the only word for these comments.

Instantly it became gun control, Jimmy Kimmel gave a emotional speech last night. social media has exploded in these kinds of discussions. Kimmel compared this to the MGM fire, where they simply changed the law about fire codes. This is not as simple, and a more complex thing to change. There is no easy answer, unless your answer is changing the Constitution.

First we do not know yet about the motives or mind of this man, IMHO the brother was hiding something, the Father(deceased) was a known criminal on the FBI 10 most wanted list. The shooter was a multimillionaire, and heavy gambler. We do not know if maybe he had lost everything, was involved with terrorism, etc. etc.   We know he had an arsenal, 40+ guns, but this country has millions of gun collectors. He did not fit any criminal profile, and he met all the legal criteria to buy a gun.

Hillary Clinton, and several others have immediately come out with gun control statements, how the NRA is to blame, Republicans caused this. Amazing to me that if true ANTIFA praised this act, who are at best far left wing radicals, that are the worst of Democratic liberals.

There is no simple answer, and many arguments for both sides of this. There are so many murders and gun deaths in this country, but what kind of gun control is the answer. Disarming us in a society of gangs, drugs, home invasions, because one lunatic does this, or imagining when riots become total anarchy, and none of the bad guys gave up their guns. Millions of people have what this man had, and never have a thought like this.

They same enough is enough, and we must do something, but we have said that about drunk driving my entire life.  If you want to go by numbers alone, do the math on traffic fatalities and ask why anyone can drive after a single drink.  We still allow tobacco to be sold in this country, fast foods, and other ingested poisons from high fat to high caloric garbage, that just kill slowly.

What is the answer, I sure do not know.

Gun control is two hands, right? 😉

There seems to be a lot more to this story than what is being reported.  How did he get all those weapons and bullets up to the room without detection?  Why did it take swat an hour to get there?  Is there a conspiracy here?  Actually, if anyone has any conspiracy ideas about this, I'd love to talk about it in the conspiracy forum.

I've even heard some reports that there was a second shooter.

As far as the answer?  Less government is always the answer.  Just look at how the people at the concert helped each other.  This is true humanity.  Look at the lines of people trying to give blood.  It seems to me that the is a bigger problem than average people.

Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen... - Zbigniew Brezhinsky

Every day we learn more, but we still have a lot to investigate. The girlfriend will give some sort of clues, it is all very strange, reminds me of the San Bernadino shooters brother, and Marathon bombers wife and mother, all knew more than the first days showed. This guys brother knows something, at least about his brothers views, mental state, and life.

How he got the guns was legal, he had no record, met all the criteria. Why Mandalay Bay did not raise an eyebrow of all his luggage, although it is probably not unusual for many going to conventions to have tons of heavy luggage and a large suite.

I'm sure the timeline will be known at some point as to the cops reaching him.

Yes gun control is 2 hands, just like getting behind the wheel of a car.  I had never heard of these bump stocks before. What surprised me looking them up was the are patented, and claim they were approved and a certificate comes with each one from the ATF. I wonder if that is true, and wonder how the US patent office can approve such a devise, to make machine guns out of semi automatics??? How are gun accessories protected by the 2nd amendment, that will be interesting.
