EL PASO, Texas — A U.S. Border Patrol agent shot and killed a 14-year-old boy after a confrontation at an international bridge near downtown El Paso, Mexican authorities said Tuesday.

Chihuahua State officials released a statement Tuesday demanding a full investigation into the death of the boy, identified as Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereca.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Doug Mosier said preliminary reports indicated one person was shot Monday evening on the U.S. side of the Paso Del Norte bridge, across from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Mosier referred to the FBI for further comment.

FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons said she had no other details, including the whereabouts or condition of the suspect. Simmons said the agent wasn't injured.

Authorities did not immediately release the agent's identity.

Simmons said the FBI was leading the investigation since it involved an assault on an officer.

Less than two weeks ago, Mexican migrant Anastacio Hernandez, 32, died after a Customs and Border Protection officer shocked him with a stun gun at the San Ysidro border crossing that separates San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico.

Last week the San Diego medical examiner's office ruled that death a homicide.

this individual was being escorted to the California /Mexico border in cuffs. He was being deported, once they took the cuffs off him he attacked the border guards, they tazed him once , hours later he died of a heart attack . I say serves him right.

again Aquarian, tell the whole story if you're looking for pity , you won't get any from me. This was justified.

In an act of desperation, no doubt. The US Border Patrol utilize draconian tactics in detaining these human beings and these agents will face resistance- but not to the extent that was used against the teenager.

There is no end to the insanity. People cheering this act of senseless violence are the same ones claiming we should all live our lives by the 10 Commandments. The zombie-cannibal apocalypse can't be far around the corner.

And those who scream bloody murder everytime an illegal gets killed should remember all the Americans that have been murdered by Illegals.

that number far outweighs the amount of illegals killed by border patrol.

Aquarian was quoting from the Huffington Post. That pretty much says it all.

Aquarian is good at skipping over the real details, about many things he posts.

The instance that the Stone of Blood was referring to has NOTHING to do with the murder of this teenage boy.

I've read two versions of the story so far, one on an AP feed, the other on cnn.com (neither of which I normally use; oddly, the story is absent from upi.com). It appears to have been self-defense, as the Border Patrol officer was being assaulted by multiple individuals throwing stones. I seem to recall stoning being used as a form of public execution, ergo the argument of 'excessive force' may be void. BTW, both reports cited the boy's age as 15, both stated the agents were surrounded by assailants, and video shows the agents never left US soil. This indicates a deliberate act of assault, as well as deliberately penetrating US territory for unlawful purpose(s).

"AP" wrote: The official, who agreed to discuss the matter only if not quoted by name, said the video also shows what seem to be four Mexican law enforcement officers driving to the edge of the dry but muddy bed of the Rio Grande, walking across to the U.S. side, picking up an undetermined object and returning to Mexico near the area where the boy's body was. Like their U.S. counterparts, Mexican law officers are not authorized to cross the border without permission.
