Every year we goto the farming areas and find a pumpkin patch, and make a fun trip out of picking out the perfect pumpkin. Kind of like fishing, by the time you spend the money on gas and the entire cost of the trip, you could have just bought Lobster in the market. Laugh

Our kids are both fully grown, but the days of them being little still lurk in our minds. Me and the neighbor Chuck would always escourt the kids around, I'd wear my cowboy hat, and he would dress up like a old lady with 2 crooked grapefruits, and the people at the door wouldn't notice, until a delayed reaction made them just crack up. We both have beards, and when their attention got off the kids and they realized, it was always a laugh. Meanwhile the Mom's would stay home and answer the door for the anslaut of maybe 10 trick or treaters. We never got many at all in our neighborhood, last year not a single kid. I think its an older neighborhood, where my daughters new tract got about 80 kids. My sister many years ago, would alway prepare for 200.

Regardless, we make up our pumpkins and light them by the door, and now we just hope nobody comes so we get to keep all the candy. Laugh We alway make a pizza which goes back to when John and Heather were little. WE have to search for them on TV, but Halloween just isn;t Halloween, unless we see old reruns of the original Frankenstein's and Dracula's, and Abbot and Costello meets the Wolfman. Like Christmas not being complete without "Its a good Life" and "A Christmas Carol".

For Mrs. G2 and me, Halloween marks the start of the Holiday season, which we stretch to our Anniversary on Valentine's Day. We make it a special time everyyear. This year starts a new chapter in our lives, with our first Grandaugher, who will be 5 weeks old. Kaitlyn already has her little Halloween Costrume, but I doubt if she will do much trick or treating this year. Watching her Mom and Dad as brand new parents, sure brings us back to that very special time, when they are so tiny. Like we all did, baby has her first cold, and they are up a good part of the nights(get used to it), and Grandma is just a phone call away for advise. All those little things you think were simple answers all of a sudden are 'Help Moooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmm" 😉

All you young people sure have a lot of uncertainty to contend with nowadays, different from our time, but never the less, we also had our worries, in our generation. What remains the same is the times of joy, that are little milestones in the daily grind. We make them special for the kids, because we all want them to never worry, and remember being a kid is mandatory. So parents and Grandparents relish in bringing the joy to special days, and like we did this year, still went Pumpkin hunting, found a neat little petting zoo with goats and Llama's, and had lunch out. It was just the 2 of us, but those memories of taking the kids are fresh as we get older. The joy of being Grandparents is going to be terrific.

Happy Halloween Everyone! 😀

We all know he doesn't have to dress up to be that.

War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.

Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.

Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.

We had a grand total of 8 kids. One group of 5 really nice polite kids all said Thank You. one girl who had a mask but sounded like an adult-even my wife herd her and asked How old was she?
The neighbor who was in costume to take her 14 year old trick or treating. They just stopped to see us, but goto another area that is all decorated every year. I think they all are opting for different things, like safe parties or going to the mall where the stores give out candy.

We watched the world series, and had a nice quiet Halloween. OUr Daughter and Son in Law were ready for a bunch of kids, and dress the baby us in a little skeleton outfit. 5 weeks old, she can't go out yet. Laugh

Bad counting, or a little wishful thinking...
