I've had a few discussions with people over the course of my life about this, and considering the cost to tax payers that it costs to keep an inmate in jail ,it makes you wonder where the justice is.
I live in canada ,and have been told that there are quite a few people around here who actually try and break the law to get caught when the weather starts to change so they can get a warm bed and 3 square meals a day.
A friend of mine who has a son who has gone to the correctional centre here for minor offences also told his mom that its way easier to get drugs there than on the streets. He even went so far as to say that he doesn't like it when he gets out because everyone is on him for drugs, because somehow they know this.
Around 10 years ago i was watching a program on tv..20/20 or W5 (something like one of those shows..and again I can't remember which one ,but I definately remember watching it)
They had a segment where they were showing some old guy (over 70 I think) who had been convicted of paedophilia crimes and was in a prison somewhere in BC. He had access to a computer and was fighting the legal system for the right that childran should have if they wanted to have sex.
He was even saying on camera that children should be allowed to make up their own minds on this matter ,and adults have taken the rights of children away for too long.
I just sat there thinking ..holy crap..heres some guy who gets 3 square meals a day..acces to a computer, a warm bed..and is fighting the legal system all on our tax dollar. From what I've heard it is very expensive to have these people in jail.
I think of my son who is struggling to by food, rent increases skyrocketing, housing doubling in cost around here in the last 10 years, and I wonder where the justice is.
I think of my daughter who has taken out a student loan to try and get herself some education, and who is going to school, working 30 hours a week, and trying her best to get ahead in life and do something she has passion for. She has no guarantee of a job, when shes done, will be paying off loans for awhile, and everything is rising in cost.
When you hear of inmates who have gotten out bragging about the steak they ate in prison, the education they got for free, and the programs that helped them because they were being "rehabilitated" it makes me wonder where the justice is?
Makes me want to tell my kids to just break the law enough to get the eduacation and help, enjoy the fact that they have a warm bed, and 3 GOOD meals a day, and not worry about what people think.
I realize thats a bit out there ,and I would never tell my kids to do that, but it does seem like they have it better than many many "good" kids trying to do things the right way.

There are 2 sides to the justice system. The side of the penal system after someone is prosocuted, and the side of the justice system that has to prosocute. Once they are convicted, the question is how is our system going to rehabilitate those incarcerated? So far not very well, when the statistics show a vast amount of inmates returning. Prison in the USA range from minimum security to hard core prison for life. Our death penalties are a joke with the millions spent on every appeal and average of 15 years time to actually execute. More die of old age and natural causes waiting out appeals. The concept of a 20 year old recieving life in Prision compared to a sick old 75 year old man sentenced to life, brings up a debate of equal punishment. In any case the objective is to send someone out of prison with a means to go back into society a productive person, able to get a job and be part of society. so far we have failed.
The seocnd side of the Justice system is prosocution of people. I've served on 3 juries and fell they system did work, however, I got paid for doing jury duty by my company. Most people do not get paid, and most people do not want to be jurors. Our system can not work if nobody is willing to serve on a jury from time to time. When you do serve you must be impartial, and judge according to the guidlines given by the Judge. Its not an easy task, but the root of our court system. Next time you recieve a summons, go serve on a jury and do your part to support the justice system you believe can;t work. Your service as a juror is the only way to combat frivolous lawsuits, and criminal defences that are protecting guilty criminals.
In California our Governor wants to release thousands of criminals early for budget reasons. Many will end up really hard core people, but records may not show this. This is a prime example of our justice system not working, letting some out of jail, and plea bargians for budget reasons.
Greeney..i just saw Dr. Wayne Dyers add on on of the Forums, advertising how to attract anything you want in 30 days. Was wondering if i bought the CD,if I could get get real justice in this world in 30 days.
I know I'm being sarcastic about the claims this man makes...but to me he's another example of snake oil salesman. Never have liked those type of people that make those kind of claims, and I've seen too many people waste their money on foolishness like this. The book and cd version of
THE SECRET is another example of this ridiculousness.

Please elaborate what you think John is peddling and making off the blackvault ???
I'm not sure what he is making thats why I asked you. He must make something to advertise for these types of people. Gets a few cents every time somebody logs on? not sure how it works..thats why I was asking.
Maybe you can elabrate to me exactly how sites make money through advertising?
