To my son, for having been sworn in as Ensign in the US Navy, and graduating Auburn University, on August 9th, 2010. Son, these are outstanding achievements, I could not be more proud if I tried. 😀
(Sorry, but without his explicit permission, I won't post his name or photo. Security, and all that.)
Sadly, he can't become a fighter pilot, which was his dream; his legs are too long to fit in current Navy trainer aircraft. However, he will (might?) still attend flight school; who knows, he may become one of NASA's next astronauts. His dad may dream of Mars, but he might go there someday. 😉

Yes! totally awesome Vulcan6gun. 😀 You should be very proud for sure, what did he major in at Auburn?
You did a good job Mom and Dad, in a world of such uncertain times and so many pitfalls for young people. When you see your kids have "made it", flying on their own, graduations, thinking straight and doing great things, thats called Mission Accomplished, for any parent.
Pat yourself on the back a few times-if he hasn't already told you, I'm sure you are his Hero Pops. 😀

G2: Political Science, he's gonna be President in 2024. Would be sooner, but he won't be eligible 'til 2017, and his butt belongs to the Navy 'til 2021.
My secret to ensuring my kids' success: I used myself as a bad example...
BS: Thanks, man. I got a kick out of giving him his second salute, he was grinning like a possum eating s***. 😀
TJ: No surprise for him, I'm sure; he already has 10 years' service as enlisted. Going from PO1 to Ensign is a relatively small change; new insignia, more protocol, same Navy. FWIW, his dolphins look great on the dress whites. 😉
Only one task left for me: Convincing him that since he's earned it, he should be wearing that 'around the world' tattoo on his forearm...even if he cheated by going under the North Pole.
