"60 Minutes" correspondent Lara Logan was repeatedly sexually assaulted by thugs yelling, "Jew! Jew!" as she covered the chaotic fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo's main square Friday, CBS and sources said yesterday.

The TV crew with Logan, who is also the network's chief foreign correspondent, had its cameras rolling moments before she was dragged off -- and caught her on tape looking tense and trying to head away from a crowd of men behind her in Tahrir Square.

"Logan was covering the jubilation . . . when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration," CBS said in a statement. "It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into a frenzy.

"In the crush of the mob, [Logan] was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.

"She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning," the network added. "She is currently in the hospital recovering."

A network source told The Post that her attackers were screaming, "Jew! Jew!" during the assault. And the day before, Logan had told Esquire.com that Egyptian soldiers hassling her and her crew had accused them of "being Israeli spies." Logan is not Jewish.

In Friday's attack, she was separated from her colleagues and attacked for between 20 to 30 minutes, The Wall Street Journal said.

Her injuries were described to The Post as "serious."

CBS went public with the incident only after it became clear that other media outlets were on to it, sources said.

"A call came in from The [Associated Press]" seeking information, a TV-industry source told The Post. "They knew she had been attacked, and they had details. CBS decided to get in front of the story."

Most network higher-ups didn't even know how brutal the sexual assault was until a few minutes before the statement went out.

"We were surprised it stayed quiet" as long as it did, one source said.

Egyptians, wasn't it?

Maybe you love fanning the Radical Muslim flames-- You know-the meme used to take away some of your rights--

Ever consider that?

Why all the unrest in the other nations? What's so wrong with freedom anyway?
Not condoning the act, merely pointing out the obvious. Scared of FREEDOM all of a sudden--poked a hornets nest did we~~

oh man..that's awful..but you just knew something like that was gonna happen..and more will..soon

Let's hope we don't have to witness reporters getting their heads cut off and security guys chared bodies hanging from bridges ..all over again.

This is very scary for us all.
It's all very worrisome, what is going on in the Middle East.
A long time coming, and just..
I wish I was PollyAnna..but I'm not
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Gas prices will soar..which means anything that needs to be delivered, which is everything..those prices will soar.
And our economy was just recovering.
fear this might be a death or near death blow where that is concerned

The unrest over there..fueled by the internet and facebook..America "the hated", at most/put up with, at least...America.. the internet and facebook are our creations

Many of them hate us..condemn and also covet what we have...but they sure love our stuff, huh?
"She is pretty blond female, doing what many of them see as a man's job. They yelled "Jew!" over and over again as they assualted her.

Doesn't that just represent the hate and the coveting?
If I was a Muslim..a regular one, I would make my case louder. I would scream out agains tthem and ask that all normal Muslims PLEASE speak out against them..louder than them..because if not...well..ennjoy the Taliban folks..because that's probably where your revolution will lead you. That or something close to it. Speak out strongly against it now, stronger than those brutal wackjobs that speak for it.

Those animals represent how a-lot of the non Muslim world see's Muslims. Not the PR guys I'd want reresenting me, my beliefs, for sure.
F-ing barbarians.

My hopeful side see's that maybe it's young people that want genuine democracy and freedom..where all this is happening...but still..this is probably gonna get hyjacked by Muslim Fund'is..it'll be Iran all over the place.

Egypt is under military control now..that's how Saddam came to power..
And Kim Pyong-il , via his dad. (and just about any dictator that calls themself 'president' or "prime minister" these days.

I say if you don't have a term limit..you ain't a president.

My friend told me China is starting to get some uprisings, too, now?

I understand the want of all these young people..but it is happening so fast..it's crazy
I really fear where this is all going.

Why did CBS cover it up?
Why are some female reporters from the same business asking questions?

Why are you scared of the inevitable?

What's going on in Wisconsin? Ever since Loughner---how many reported shootings have made it front and center?

I've some ideas---but how to deliver?

Cole

PS--They lashed a girl who was raped by her Father, she was lashed for sex outside wedlock--she's dead!--Oh--she was 15 or so..........the sentence was 100--but around # 84 or so--she expired.

Any chance that the PTB--are using this kind of society as a means to an end-0-? Any? 😉

stay safe--

Some of those from other MSM outlets say the reason they sat on it was because they were trying to push the " peaceful protest " angle in an effort to paint the scene in an acceptable sort of light. Only gang rape, or whatever it was, isn't very peaceful.

So once others were onto the story CBS was forced to divulge the contents, so to speak. Something tells me peaceful democracy within that region is pure fantasy. Anyway! Some aspects of the event make little sense to me, but I tend to use LOGIC so maybe I'm just employing an obsolete method of reason. Laugh

She had a security detail--so they say--who were they? 16 year old boy scouts :wtf: She gets separated from them ( some how separated ) subsequently sexually assaulted -- Sexual assault can take many forms--so what exactly happen to her is anyone's guess--regardless it was far from peaceful and probably not real pretty.

Sexual assault is always an attention grabber, and like Moses parting the Red sea with his walking stick, I've seen the same with the display of a handgun--So0oo.........you have to wonder. At least I do anyway! Laugh

OH! I SEE the angle you're coming from. Since they have rapists in Egypt the protests aren't peaceful.

Gotcha.

So since there are rapists in America it's a pretty dangerous place to be.

speaking of America..
Given that the uprisings in Wisconsin, some people have said they were inspired by the Middle East uprisings.
well..
I think it is pretty damn stupid of the US government threatening to shut down over the budget crisis.
Remember the kids at all the world trade conferences? I distinctly remember the riots at the Seattle one a few years back.
feels like there are people in control that WANT this chaos.

paranoid me, coming out, here

Not sure what your issue is Pal--But it's obvious that you have one--so be it---and like I mentioned on another thread--SOME people take this shit way too seriously. 😉

If you have an issue try taking it up with the woman who was assaulted, or the MSM Outfit that sat on it so long.

Did anti-Mubarak protesters assault Lara Logan?

He's asking a question---but how is he saying it???????? Some think she was merely groped--nothing more---but if you say that--guess what--" YOU GET SACKED " I mean after all she's an Emmy winner for God's sake.

Cairo -- The sexual assault on CBS correspondent Lara Logan in Tahrir Square Friday was an outrage, and I agree with my colleague Richard Cohen that CBS shouldn't have waited so long to report it. But Cohen and others who have jumped on this story may be wrong to link this brutal attack with the protests that toppled the government of Hosni Mubarak.

When I raised the Logan attack today with two Egyptians who are close to the organizers of the Tahrir Square demonstrations, they made two points worth considering:

-First, as news of Mubarak's departure spread last Friday, Tahrir became crowded with people who hadn't necessarily taken part in the 18 days of anti-Mubarak activism. Some were more like soccer hooligans than protestors, my Egyptian contacts said.

From what the protest organizers tell me, they had worked hard to contain violence within their own ranks, even when provoked. Indeed, violent provocations seem to have come mostly from the other side -- the pro-Mubarak agitators, as in the infamous "Day of the Camels" assault by counter-revolutionaries mounted on horses and camels.-Second, Cohen repeats allegations that the crowd that assaulted Logan shouted "Jew, Jew." I don't know if that's accurate, but if it's true, the blame should go to the pro-Mubarak camp for disseminating the sick view that Logan, as a foreign reporter, was a pro-Israel conspirator. This theme that the Tahrir demonstrations were the work of pro-Israel foreign agents masked as reporters was spread by pro-government sources, and even the official media. When foreign journalists were attacked and beaten, it wasn't by the Tahrir protesters, but by pro-Mubarak thugs. The Logan attack may have been an appalling echo of this outrageous pro-Mubarak campaign against foreign journalists.

Again, none of this justifies the attack in any way. But I would want more facts before I laid blame for the assault on the anti-Mubarak movement that was itself a victim of similar thuggery.

More facts you say!! Good--

Is she the same Logan who had an extramarital and found herself with child back in 2008?

This one! Is this her?

Image Enlarger

Was this lifted from a Right wing blogger, wannabe blogger? :wtf:

Calls em savages----what's he think of dropping bombs on innocent peoples all over the globe?

I've about enough of this ilk!! 😈

Lara Logan is considered a "rising star" at CBS news. She's reported from around the world for 17 years....contributes to "60 Minutes" and has just been named Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for the news division.

In fact, there's even been talk the network is grooming Logan for "bigger and better things" (i.e. an anchor position????).

Now, Logan finds herself at the center of a story. A divorce between a U.S. State Department contractor who worked along side her in Baghdad....and the contractor's wife.

The story has hit the front page of the New York Post...which next to the daily tabloid papers in England, probably writes the best (well, at least the most colorful) headlines you'll find anywhere.

So here goes just what you 5 posters have been waiting for:

Just how severe was this attack? Start tossing stones at will!

A group of twenty women---those with a long history of being abused, kicked, beaten, raped, lashed on and on and on---SAVE HER!

No you can't make this stuff up---NOPE--Never not in a million years!

Don't you just love attention, I mean the sensationalism is just awe inspiring--ISN'T IT?

Her page has a few HOLES in it!

So I guess the National Enquirer was right--
