Received these via email, some are pretty interesting.

You think you know the Vietnam War.
But did you know:
• When we left South Vietnam we had won the war, but congressional liberals later ensured that South Vietnam would be lost
• Enemy body counts were actually underreported
• The United States never carpet-bombed urban areas
• Soviet and Chinese support for North Vietnam was even more extensive than we realized, as they wanted to help Ho Chi Minh, who was a hard-core Communist, not a mere nationalist)
• The “boat people” were no surprise, given the long history of Communist Vietnamese atrocities
• Drug abuse wasn’t a problem veterans brought to the States -- it was a problem 1960s social liberalism brought to the Army
• Vietnam veterans are better off -- financially, psychologically and educationally -- than their peers who didn’t serve

You think you know the US Civil War.
But did you know:

• That the 11 states that seceded from the Union did so legally
• That the Emancipation Proclamation did not free a single slave
• That leading Northern generals -- like McLellan and Sherman -- hated abolitionists (those who wanted slavery abolished)
• That bombing people "back to the Stone Age" got its start with the Federal siege of Vicksburg, MS
• That Stonewall Jackson founded a Sunday school for slaves where he taught them how to read
• That General James Longstreet fought the Battle of Sharpsburg in his carpet slippers
• That if the South had won, we might be able to enjoy holidays in the sunny Southern state of Cuba

It's really bad anymore,

these kids aren't even taught the real history of this country anymore, most history books aren't even factually correct anymore. I saw what my 8 yr old nephew was being taught, They are molding these little brains into American hating Progressives more , and more every day.

This is the future of this country, we have too many liberal, radical , progressive teachers just indoctronating their radical ideas, and agendas. These kids don't stand a chance.

It's the same everywhere you look. look at fashion, and Hollywood. The revisionists history is being sold all over this once Great Nation. Unfortunately most parents have no idea what these kids are being force fed daily. It really is nothing more than brainwashing them into hating the free market, hating capitalism, freedom, the founding fathers, all that used to make us great.

truely sad state of affairs ....

Speaking of Hollywood, did you hear Tom Hanks the other day? He said we fought the Japanese in World War II because they were "different." (aka we waged a racist war on them)

  • “Back in World War II,” he says, “we viewed the Japanese as ‘yellow, slant-eyed dogs’ that believed in different gods. They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what’s going on today?”

    – Tom Hanks, Time Magazine, March 15, 2010

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters says Tom Hanks is 'historically illiterate.'

This is what happens when people put agendas into our schooling system instead of just teaching. What's worse, this or the state of Texas not teaching about Thomas Jefferson in their school districts and trying to brainwash the kids into radical Conservativism?

Our founding fathers were liberals and not dogmatic conservatives as people try to preach in todays world! A majority of our founding fathers were Masons and they wanted freedom in this country to pursue scientific advancement, religious freedom and quite frankly to do whatever the hell we want within reason! All a person needs to do is look in the dictionary:

liberalism:
a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties.

conservative:
disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

Or we could debate on how one of the other meanings of being Conservative, stands for Conservative Judaism but I won’t go there! The problem with today’s politics is that liberalism has been branded into something it’s not by the radical far right. For anyone to take an actors statement seriously has problems.

That's true as well, but at least Arnold is somewhat sane! I should of made it clearer that I was talking about some of the more extreme ones who hopefully never see the light of public office.

This thread is mostly about our education system and how children are indoctrinated with revisionist history (lies). So, this is about the children. Well, it's the children who absolutely do take the words of famous actors and athletes seriously. It's just human nature. We are being taught from a young age, a completely different picture of the past; one that all too often depicts America as an evil, power-hungry country. That's liberal thought patterns; not conservative. Liberals dominate our schools. Last I heard, teachers and professors are liberals, not conservatives by a factor of about 90%. That would be fine if they could manage to be objective but instead they (again I guess it's human nature) inject their political views into the teaching and the kids come out thinking like liberals. Over a long span of time it can transform an entire country and we are witnessing that as we speak. You may like it, but I sure don't.

Obviously I don't agree with your post but we'll have a good discussion about this. The problem with our schools is not the view of the teachers, it's the lack of funding, teacher pay and standardized testing! It's like when the GOP Governor won in New Jersey, he cut education, how can schools succeed when funding gets cut?

He'll be the best Governor that state has had in a long time.

He did the right thing.

They refuse to teach kids, instead they indoctronate. They get payed plenty for not doing their jobs. Most shouldn't even have those jobs. Kudos Gov. Cristie !!! long overdue.

how can schools succeed when funding gets cut?

They go back to teacing , and making sure the kids can pass before they let them move up.
