It would be fantastic if the email notification of PM's actually worked. 😎

I noticed when I log into the Blackvault, thats when you see your email inbox, sent, etc. However I have my screen size set to 125% to see it better, consequently that infornation dips below the bottom of the screen. At 100% it shows. When you goto the forums you no longer see the envelope icon for your PM box. It would be a nice feature if we had something that shows "You have mail", that you can't miss, when you are on the message board. As far as I know, our regular email gets a notice that your BV PM has a message in it. What seems to be an easy task, sometimes is a complicated thing to program. Sending instant messages would be fun too, but again probably a difficult programing issue, all beyond me.

Anyway, Bionic, when you see this, check your PM's.

They do -- the box has to be checked to send the e-mail, however...

No doubt. :thumbup:

I'm having a cookie issue with the BV social site, it keeps forgetting who I am so I usually have to go through the forgotten password dialog in order to see if anyone has sent me a PM, which I am not notified of by email. I should change from the default, given password to something I can remember.

Well, Since Internet Explorer is still buggy, it doesn't work quite right with my programming.

However, if you access the message forums via this link, you will get the inbox icons with message notifications;

But... since IE can't really handle IFrames too well, we get missing information in the pages. I hope there will be an update soon to fix that. In Firefox, I believe it works fine.

The site will remember you, but it depends on your cookie security settings. The standard settings (not increasing it to higher settings) should work fine, and the site will remember you. It does "expire" however if you don't visit the main site and only access the message forums directly (different cookie). That would be normal with any site.

If u delete your history/cookies regularly, that is when you lose the "memory" from the sites you visit. Also, if you are just coming to the forums and bypassing the main site, it will eventually drop off. So, you go thru what ur doing repeatedly.

If you check your box, you will be notified of pm's. I get the emails regularly when someone or multiple people in the same day pm me.

edit: missed bionics' AND blackvault's posts somehow, that's ODD...

I see u already have the above info..oh well. 😯

Dawkins thinks belief in God is an excuse to evade thinking in the scientific world. Sadly, he is ignorant to the list of christian scientists who have contributed & founded many of the sciences he himself believes in. How ironic.

may i recommend Google chrome frame for IE for every one who likes internet explorer but has problems with web 2.0 sites

"google" wrote: Enable open web technologies in Internet Explorer
Google Chrome Frame is an open source plug-in that seamlessly brings Google Chrome's open web technologies and speedy JavaScript engine to Internet Explorer. With Google Chrome Frame, you can:
Start using open web technologies - like the HTML5 canvas tag - right away, even technologies that aren't yet supported in Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8.
Take advantage of JavaScript performance improvements to make your apps faster and more responsive.
