The plot thickens a lot more, as new yesterday show Bill admitting to giving qualuds and other drugs to women, in a deposition that led to a 2005 settlement. This just opened the door to dozens of accusations he did the same to many many women. Statute of limitations criminally has run out, but ol Bill declared, "These women are lying", which apparently opens the door to civil suits for defomation of character.
What was one of he first things they said when this all broke in the news months ago? Racism, trying to bring down another African American Icon, such a trusted and nice man, this could not be true. But now the truth comes out, and this is not about racism whatsoever, it is about a serial date rapist, who drugged women, to rape them. Something anyone else might be facing life in prison with so many counts against them.
What is your opinion? This man was a man who broke barriers, staring in a major TV series with equal billing to Robert Culp, in the days when Black people still could not use public bathrooms, or ride in the front of the bus. Bill earned over a Billions dollars in his life as a TRUSTED spokesman for Jello pudding for your kids, hosted "kids say the darnest things", the Cosby show, all while secretly have a life of slipping drugs to countless victims to rape them.
To make things worse, just like the Penn State molestation case, His wife also knew about Bills escapades. Both wives turned a blind eye, to the monsters who nobody knew about but them.

I'm fairly good at compartmentalizing things so I don't have to, as I read on another forum, stop buying Jello brand pudding or burn my one Cosby standup DVD. That's just me though. Like all this silliness with banning Dukes of Hazzard reruns and toys and iPhone civil war games, a lot if this country becomes so wrapped up in the inconsequential the real issue never gets addressed. I never was a fan of the show so I don't have to "give up" watching it.
And the reason I mention my particular take on that aspect of this is your mention of it. As far as the crime goes it is quite above offensive and horrible. I'm close to someone date raped. But it's more offensive and enormously diversionary for him to call out racism. Just like the above mentioned confederate flag debate, there's always people trotting out diversionary tactics in order for people to loose sight of the real issue. And it's very easy with the instant access media we have with the internet.
Ill think on this a bit more and come back. I don't want my post to turn into a rant.

What is there to say about this creep that hasn't already been said in ones own thoughts.
We've seen it before .Here in Australia we have our own celebrity crooks being weeded out as well .And that's all they are really , conmen ,actors ,the characters separate them pretty much.
The wives have boundaries and weaknesses they probably are not prepared for ,and it is no excuse in any case.
I never liked the Cosby Show in any shape or form,I never liked animated cartoon either as a child .
They seemed idiotic and pointless .Each to their own.
Ironically as a pre teen and then teenager, the things I believed in and loved to read about in the school library were UFOs and the Paranormal ,because to me they seemed more real .

People in power tend to do horrible things. They also tend to get away with it with little to no consequence to them or theirs. What else is new?
War is an extension of economics and diplomacy through other means.
Economics and diplomacy are methods of securing resources used by humans.
Securing resources is the one necessary behavior for all living things.
War = Life

People in power also make easy targets.
Pushing "60", I was around the party scene 30+ years ago when these incidents allegedly occurred.
While I never indulged, Methaqualone/Quaalude, aka 'ludes, were the party drug of choice. Couldn't attend a party without being offered one. Similar to the contemporary Ecstasy/Molly one might find at a rave.
I'm no big fan of BC, but it wouldn't surprise me if 30 years from now, some fan of a celebrity made similar claims of abuse after being slipped X during a sexual encounter.
Buyers remorse, or money seeking behavior? So much easier to blame someone else, rather than take responsibility for ones own actions. Party down with a celebrity, take drugs and go up to his room. Sounds more like nature took it's course.
What's to be gained 30 years later from a man in 80's?
Statute of limitations has run out.
No legal remedy.
Sounds more like just personal vendetta.
