Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is an alleged ape-like creature purportedly inhabiting forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid.

The scientific community considers Bigfoot to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoaxes, rather than a real creature.[2] In general, mainstream scientific consensus does not support the posited existence of megafauna cryptids such as Bigfoot, because of the improbably large numbers necessary to maintain a breeding population,[3] and because climate and food supply issues would make such purported creatures' survival in reported habitats unlikely.[4] Despite these facts, Bigfoot is one of the more famous examples of a cryptid within cryptozoology.

Being from Northern Minnesota, I'm really innterested in Bigfoot! I have no doubt that he exists, there's too many stories and legends across the world. I plan on putting more into this thread as well.

Hope you don't mind, let me know if you do, but I would like to add things in here as well. Ranging from actual thought sightings to lore and legend. As bigfoot has alot of importance to the Native American Culture. Most Native American Tribes (atleast nothern) believe that Big foot can appear and disappear upon will in our dimensions.

Here is also a link to a sight that has some of the legends from different peoples.

Sandra good site, that's exactly what I was looking for! I'll also post some sightings as well. That site mentioned the Turtle Mountain band of Chippewas and they are practically right next door from where I'm at. I'll read that when I have a little more time. Also I ran into a sighting that happened on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota, where they took pictures of a supposed bigfoot footprint, if I can find it I'll post it on here.

I've often wondered if they weren't a multi-dimensional being. Even though I have my own theory on them and that they are real and just very elusive. They just like the caves and wooded areas and know how to survive and flee danger. These creatures are intelligent and there's no doubt about it.

Ah yiiikes, I ran accross this story- I remember nightwolf you asking me about sightings in Red Lake wasn't it- Well along some of my research I found this story, from an indian kid who posted at above top secret and some thoughts on Big foot, however he was the shooter at the red lake tragedy. 😕 hmmm.

Sandra, that was the sighting I was talking about. I didn't care too much about the article that referred to the kid who did the shootings a few years ago. See how the article tries to connect his bigfoot interest to him being a neo-nazi and his problems? I was mainly talking about the foot print photos that they took on the reservation from that sighting. Even though the article did have them, I was hoping to find the photos without the article about the shooter.

I ran across them before on the red lake indian website and I should of saved them but of course didn't! 🙄

Yeah I see what the article was trying to tie in, I didn't care for that either, especially considering bigfoot is a very sacred and spiritual being just as much as a physical to Natives. However I remember you talking about the redlake sighting and I came accross that article.

I was looking through the minnesota bigfoot link you provided, under reports, there are none listed. What a bummer, makes me want to go on a hunt. Could you imagine that, I never give up I'd be out in the woods for eternity. Laugh 😕

I'm looking up some more information, many Native Americans believe bigfoot travels North and South, South and North. Not east or west like...I'm looking for that info as well.

You need some of these with night vision cameras and thermal imagers.

Actually I'm trying to convince a friend over in Africa she needs to start helping the locals start a whale watching tourism using blimps (won't disturb the whales as much as boats do.), wish they'd start using blimps on Cape Cod admittedly you would not get as close but you'd see the entire bulk of the whale.

Sandra, I'll post some sites that have nothing but sightings, I thought you were going to do that, so that's why I haven't yet. There are tons of sightings in Minnesota. There's been some around the Bemidji area and in the northeastern part of the state. That's why I pmed you, wondering what you wanted to do in this thread! 😉

Aquatank, nice one! There have been groups who do use thermal imaging on remote controlled helicopters. I've watched a few episodes on Monsterquest where they've done that. In fact some of the groups that I posted have appeared on the show. The Team Nesra group actually performed a search for the show.
