WASHINGTON (KNX) -- Seven Marines and one sailor will be charged for the April death of an Iraqi civilian by the Marine Corps, a defense official said.
The eight accused are being held in a military brig at Camp Pendleton, CA, since late May.
The allegation is that Marines removed the Iraqi civilian from his home and shot him to death on April 26. Seven Marines and one Navy corpsman from the Pendleton-based 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment were taken out of Iraq and put in the brig pending the filing of any charges against them.
