Contracts valued at $5 million or more are announced each business day at 5 p.m. Eastern. These were the contracts made on Halloween, October 31, 2001.

CONTRACTS

ARMY

Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio, is being awarded $425,498 as part of a $43,600,000 five-year requirements/cost contract to obtain scientific, technical and advisory services for the solution of problems related to research and development projects within the government. Most services are short term and intermittent. The program, referred to as the Scientific Services Program (composed of the following subprograms: short-term analysis services, Laboratory Research Cooperative Program, Summer Faculty Research and Engineering Program, Summer Associateships Program for High School Science and Mathematics Faculty, Post Laboratory Research Cooperative Program/Post Summer Faculty Research and Engineering Program and conferences, workshops and symposia) provides administrative and technical support to organize and conduct conferences, workshops and symposia. Work will be performed at various locations to be determined with each delivery order. Of the total contract funds, $425,498 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on Aug. 8, 2001, and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Research Office, Triangle Park, N.C., is the contracting activity (DAAD19-02-D-0001).

Honeywell Inc., Engines and Systems, Phoenix, Ariz., is being awarded a $7,751,591 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAH23-99-C-0094 for 16 engine conversion kits and 30 fielding kits. Work will be performed in Phoenix, Ariz. (73%), and Greer, S.C. (27%), and completion is expected by April 26, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 11, 2001. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

Pump & Engine Control Systems, Goodrich Corp., West Hartford, Conn., is being awarded a $5,850,542 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAH23-01-C-0101 for 136 digital electronic control units and 142 hydro mechanical assemblies for the CH-47D engine program with a fiscal year 2002 option for 152 digital electronic control units and 172 hydro mechanical assemblies. Work will be performed in West Hartford, Conn., and completion is expected by Dec. 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Jan. 22, 2001. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

NAVY

General Electric Aircraft Engines, General Electric Co., Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $35,700,000 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-99-C-1175) for the procurement of approximately 103 F404-402 engine modules and attendant hardware that powers the F/A-18C/D Hornet aircraft. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass. (58%); Evendale, Ohio (25%); Rutland, Vt. (4%); Albuquerque, N.M. (4%); Madisonville, Ky. (4%); Hooksett, N.H. (3%); and Wilmington, N.C. (2%), and is expected to be completed in September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Interstate Electronics Corp., Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $28,852,704 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide system-engineering support, logistics and field services support for the Trident Test Instrumentation Program. Work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds in the amount of $24,017,956 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Navy's Strategic Systems Program, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00030-02-C-0028).

Alliant Techsystems Inc., Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, Rocket Center, W.Va., is being awarded a $15,691,938 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-97-C-0156) to exercise an option for the procurement of 266 air-to-air and 702 surface-to-air Sparrow missile rocket motors for the governments of Australia (16 air-to-air), Canada (250 air-to-air), Egypt (136 surface-to-air), Greece (197 surface-to-air), NATO Belgium (44 surface-to-air), NATO Canada (50 surface-to-air), NATO Denmark (20 surface-to-air), NATO Germany (5 surface-to-air), NATO Greece (150 surface-to-air) and NATO Netherlands (100 surface-to-air). This contract combines purchases for the governments of Canada (26%), Greece (20%), NATO Greece (15%), Egypt (14%), NATO Netherlands (10%), NATO Canada (5%), NATO Belgium (5%), Australia (2%), NATO Denmark (2%) and NATO Germany (1%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Rocket Center, W.Va., and is expected to be completed in December 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin, Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems, Moorestown, N.J., is being awarded a $6,500,000 cost-reimbursable, fixed-fee contract modification to previously awarded contract N00024-97-C-5177 for engineering planning and evaluation support for future DDG 2317-class programs. This modification involves an award for the government of Japan (100%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Moorestown, N.J., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D. C., is the contracting activity.

Weeks Marine Inc., St. Rose, La., is being awarded a $6,332,500 firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance dredging at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Norfolk, Va. The work to be performed provides for bucket dredging approximately 602,500 cubic yards of material at the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek inner harbor to the Thimble Shoals channel area and incidental related work. Work will be performed in Virginia Beach, Va., and is expected to be completed by May 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 14 proposals solicited and two offers received. The Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N62470-01-C-1088).

AIR FORCE

Raytheon Aerospace Co., Madison, Miss., is being awarded a $14,500,328 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for logistic support for the T-1A aircraft. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete September 2002. The contractor will perform this effort at Madison, Miss. (25%); Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas (25%); Vance Air Force Base, Okla. (25%); and Columbus Air Force Base Miss. (25%). The Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-99-C-0016, P00024).

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems, Santa Maria, Calif., is being awarded an $11,804,802 cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to provide for Integrated Range Information Service support designs and procure and implement hardware, software and communication capabilities to provide electronic data interchange services in support of meeting specified program requirements. The use of the System Integrated and Test Support Facility for Spacelift Range is required for product development, test and sustainment activities. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete November 2005. The Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-95-C-0029, P00116).

Telephonics Corp., Farmingdale, N.Y., is being award a $9,499,117 time and materials contract modification to provide for 123 receiver assemblies and 123 transmitters applicable to the APX-103 System for the E-3 aircraft. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete April 2003. The Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (F09603-01-C-0408, P00001).

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Berkeley, Mo., is being awarded a $9,294,719 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for 434 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits. JADM is a strap-on kit with inertial navigation system/global positioning system capability that will provide an improved aerial delivery capability for existing 1,000- and 2,000-pound bombs. At this time, the total amount of funds has been obligated. This work will be complete March 2002. This effort will be performed by Honeywell Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. (31%), and at other locations.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded an $8,213,000 (not-to-exceed) firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for the incorporation of the fiber optic high-speed data bus (fibre channel) capability into the Peace Marble V radar system. This includes the capability to record quick reaction capability data in the core avionics instead of in the radar. Basic capability includes group A provisions on all Peace Marble V aircraft and the complete capability on five aircraft. At this time, $4,106,500 has been obligated. This work will be complete December 2003. This effort support foreign military sales to Israel. The Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-99-C-2048, P00026).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Federated Wholesale*, Atlanta, Ga., is being awarded a $275,498 minimum/$9,252,750 maximum firm-fixed-price with indefinite-quantity type contract for three types of health and comfort packs for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps. Performance completion date is scheduled for Oct. 30, 2002. Contract funds for this project will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were seven proposals solicited, and five responded. The contracting activity is the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa. (SP0300-02-D-Z101).
